Amanda comes to Herman + Cormany with 10+ years of experience in management, leadership, and training & development. She holds a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree from Marshall University. Amanda serves as the firm's Office Administrator, focusing on supporting the staff in an administrative, IT, and human resources capacity.
Amanda enjoys working at Herman + Cormany with her mother Valerie, father Todd, and second family of the many employees she has known almost her entire life.
Beth has been with Herman + Cormany for 24 years as an administrative assistant. She holds a Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Beth supports the firm's day-to-day operations as well as tax preparation.
Brandon is a recent graduate of West Virginia State University with a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration (Accounting) and a Bachelor of Arts, Economics. Brandon came to Herman & Cormany during his senior year of college as an intern after serving in a similar role at another firm for nearly two years throughout his college career. Brandon is now a full-time Accountant with Herman & Cormany, working primarily with audit and assurance engagements. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, spending time with family, and is an avid outdoorsman.
Cris is a graduate of Glenville State College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Forensic Accounting from the University of Charleston. He brings 12+ years of experience in auditing, specializing in Non-Profit organizations. Cris is a member of the AICPA, WV Society of CPAs, and is the former president of the Charleston Chapter of WV Society of CPAs. He is a licensed CPA in West Virginia.
Cris is an avid disc golf player who enjoys the outdoors, hiking, and spending time with his daughters.
Derek has been with Herman + Cormany for 28 years and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Marshall University. He has practiced public accounting for 34 years and specializes in tax preparation for individuals and businesses and consulting.
Derek currently serves as the treasurer at his local church, the area Committee for Young Life, and is the head boys basketball coach at Sissonville High School. He and his wife Lisa have four incredible children, and he loves to play golf and travel in his spare time.

Greg has been with Herman + Cormany for over 34 years. He focuses on tax and business consulting with an emphasis on real estate. After graduating from West Virginia University, Greg went to work for Laventhal & Horvath, a public accounting firm in Dallas, Texas. He currently serves as a board member and financial secretary for B'nai Jacob synagogue and has served as a member of the executive committee of the city of Charleston and is the past treasurer of the Kanawha City Lions Club.
Greg is the founder and past president of the West Virginia Chaos and Charleston Futbol Club.
John brings over 30 years of public tax and accounting experience as he merged his experience and client base with the Herman + Cormany team in the fall of 2018. John holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration in Accounting from West Virginia University, an Accredited Fraud Investigator from the University of Charleston, Forensic Institute, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in West Virginia, Tennessee, and Texas. In the past, John has served as the Treasurer of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in St. Albans and the President of the St. Albans Rotary Club.
John enjoys football and is a passionate West Virginia Mountaineers and the Tennessee Titans fan.
Maria has been with Herman + Cormany for nearly 30 years. She's the friendly face you see at the front desk when you enter our office. Maria performs secretarial work and manages the tax filing due date lists. She also assists with all things administrative and helping the office run smoothly.
Maria enjoys spending time with family, friends, exercising and watching college sports.
Mike has been with Herman + Cormany for over 8 years, after spending the majority of his working career in the private sector. He is a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor of Business Studies in Accounting. Mike is involved with numerous non-profit audits, as well as working with various payroll and write-up clients.
Mike has served on the board of Children's Theatre of Charleston, and he has volunteered his time with the Wyldlife youth organization. He is also a past youth baseball and soccer coach. Mike enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and is a baseball, football, and basketball fan.
Morgan is our partner in charge of litigation support and business valuation. He has worked on thousands of civil litigation matters over the years and has been qualified as an expert witness in family, Circuit, and Federal Court across the four corners of West Virginia. Morgan is a 1999 graduate of Marshall University and finished his MBA program in 2001 when he was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the national honor society for business students. Morgan served as the Treasurer of the Roark Sullivan Lifeway Center for six years and currently serves on the Property Board for the city of South Charleston.
Shari brings over 30 years of experience in accounting with a Masters in Forensic Accounting from the University of Charleston and a Bachelor of Science-Business Administration from West Virginia State University. Shari is an Accredited Fraud Investigator, Enroll Agent with the IRS, and focuses on bookkeeping and tax preparation for Herman + Cormany.
In her free time, Shari enjoys flipping homes with her husband, volunteering as treasurer at her church, and supporting local 4-H Club. Shari also enjoys any time she gets to spend with her husband, 3 sons, 5 grandsons, and 1 granddaughter.
Shelly has been with Herman + Cormany for 12 years. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from James Madison University and a Master of Business Administration from Marshall University. Shelly is a licensed CPA in West Virginia, and her areas of focus include audit and tax services.
Shelly is an active volunteer for the Young Life Area Committee, her church, and the Adult Committee for Scout Troup 34. She enjoys time spent with her family friends, running, and hiking.
Sherri has been with Herman + Cormany for 3 years and holds an Associate degree in Administration from Glenville State College. She has over 39 years of experience in bookkeeping and payroll, spanning from oil and gas to public accounting.
Sherri is an active member of her church and spends her free time reading, watching college sports, visiting the beach, working in her yard, and spending time with her son.
Todd has been with Herman + Cormany for 25 years. He holds both a bachelor's degree and MBA from Marshall University. His main area of practice is auditing and not-for-profits. Todd has experience in coal, banking, and public accounting.
He has served as a church trustee, elder, and Sunday school teacher and served on the Leadership Board of Western West Virginia Fellowship of Christian Athletes for over 20 years. He's a lifelong Washington Commanders fan.
Tyler brings over 10 years of tax and accounting experience as he merged his client base with the Herman + Cormany team in the winter of 2022. Tyler holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration (Accounting) from West Virginia State University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in West Virginia.
Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, playing golf and watching sports.
Valerie is a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and has been with Herman + Cormany for 26 years. She has 38 years of experience in public and private accounting, including 10 years in the coal industry, and specializes in providing accounting, tax, and consulting services primarily to small businesses and individuals. Valerie also heads the firm's trust and estate practice. She had served as the Treasurer for the West Virginia Youth Symphony Orchestra, Friends of Bluestone, Inc., and President of the Pride Band Boosters, Inc. when her children attended Capital High School. Valerie is a licensed, Certified Public Accountant in West Virginia.
Valerie enjoys working at Herman + Cormany with her husband Todd and their daughter Amanda.
Vivian has been with Herman + Cormany for 5 years as an accounting intern and a staff accountant. She graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, is a QuickBooks Online Pro Advisor, and works primarily in bookkeeping and payroll services.
Vivian enjoys swing dancing as a former member of the WVU Swing Dance Club, creating nail art, and spending time with her pets.
