Biography
Alberto is Chief Technical Officer and co-founder of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Biography
Alberto is an enthusiast of the holistic transition towards low-carbon economies and the conservation of our precious biodiversity and natural resources. For more than 10 years he has worked with several rural and indigenous communities in the implementation of forest sustainable management and carbon sequestration projects for the VCM, his has worked as independent consultant for diverse NGOs as well as for government agencies, both from Mexico and abroad. From 2019 to 2023 he coordinated the biggest communitarian carbon sequestration project in Mexico focused on the reinforcement of social safeguards in aim of a more transparent and fair market exercise.
Since 2021 he works as part time consultant for Climate Action Reserve for the improvement and development of the Mexico, Panama and Guatemala Forest Protocols, as well as translator of programmatic and technical documentation.
Alberto is part of Bret Consultores, a consultancy group that helps people to develop projects in Mexico implementing robust due diligence processes to ensure long-term commitment and transparency.
Alberto holds a bachelor degree in Biology by Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México - FESI, and has masters studies in sustainable forestry by the Colegio de Postgraduados.

Biography
Alexia Kelly is Managing Director of the Carbon Policy and Markets Initiative (CPMI) at High Tide Foundation. The CPMI accelerates ambitious climate action and capital mobilization through robust rules and guidance for voluntary corporate action and disclosures, and by building the next generation of high-integrity carbon and environmental services markets.
Alexia has worked for more than 17 years at the intersection of policy and finance to address the climate crisis. Prior to joining High Tide Foundation, she served as Director of Net Zero + Nature at Netflix, where she led the company's inaugural greenhouse gas inventory, renewable energy strategy, Science Based Target and global carbon credit portfolio. She has held senior roles at the U.S. Department of State, where she served as lead negotiator to the UNFCCC on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
She has also held roles at the World Resources Institute, The David and Lucille Packard Foundation, The Climate Trust, and in private equity. She serves on multiple non-profit boards and holds a BA, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a Master in Community and Regional Planning (MCRP) from the University of Oregon.

Biography
Dr. Abdel-Aziz obtained his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University, USA in 2003. Dr. Abdel-Aziz is the Chairman of Integral Consult since 2004 and has more than 29 years of experience, including climate mitigation projects in the energy, industry and waste sectors. He led the implementation of hundreds of projects in these fields including evaluation of policies to reduce GHG emissions, technology and finance needs. He has worked on mitigation projects with international institutions, such as WB, AfDB, UNDP, UNIDO, UNFCCC, and GIZ. Dr. Abdel-Aziz advised the team of experts on the development of Egypt's Nationally Determined Contributions and its update and led the development of its National Climate Change Strategy.
Dr. Abdel-Aziz has been extensively involved in the negotiations process and is currently a senior advisor to COP27 presidency team leading on mitigation and transparency issues. He is also the advisor to the Egyptian Minister of Environment on climate change issues since 2014. He was also the Like-Minded Group of Developing Countries transparency coordinator during the negotiations of the Modalities, Procedures and Guidelines of the Enhanced Transparency Framework of the Paris Agreement.
Dr. Abdel-Aziz is a Member of the Methodologies Panel of the CDM Executive Board since 2005 where he participated in the review and development of more than 100 CDM methodologies for mitigation projects. Moreover, he was a lead author for the IPCC WGIII AR5 report (Industry chapter, waste section), IPCC WGIII AR6 report (Emissions drivers and trends), and the 2019 refinement for the IPCC 2006 Guidelines. He is an expert in emissions projections with UNFCCC and a lead reviewer for reviewing Annex I Parties national communications, biennial reports and GHG inventories and has also led technical analysis teams for non-Annex I Parties BUR.

Biography
Amy Merrill is the Chief Executive Officer of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM), the independent global governance body that sets and enforces threshold quality standards for the voluntary carbon market.
Prior to ICVCM, Amy was Head of Global Carbon Markets at the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES). Between 2011 and 2021, Amy led the UNFCCC support to the development of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and to negotiations and drafting of the Article 6 implementing rules adopted at COP26 (2021). Amy was also the senior lawyer at UNFCCC for the Kyoto carbon mechanisms and is a qualified UK lawyer with more than 20 years of experience. Before her time at the UNFCCC, Amy was a leading carbon and climate finance lawyer in the City of London, working with MDBs and investment banks.

Biography
Andrea is managing director of the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA) - an industry association running an accreditation programme for best-in-class carbon offsetting services. She also works an independent advisor and non-executive director to support companies with their net zero strategies. Further, Andrea is a mentor for the Creative Destruction Lab (Oxford University chapter), assisting new ventures in the climate stream.
Previous roles have included Director Energy Transition, bp Downstream where Andrea and her team were at the centre of driving bp's net zero ambition. This included supporting the Downstream executive and bp main Board in defining decarbonising pathways to achieve net zero, understanding climate risks, reporting (ESG) and implementing targets. Driving the energy transition, Andrea established cross-business governance, performance management and GHG measurement processes.
As head of bp Target Neutral, Andrea led a world-class voluntary carbon market programme developing carbon reduction and offsetting programmes for bp and its customers. Working with NGOs and industry associations, her team developed many industry firsts including offsetting programmes for the London Olympics & Paralympics and FIFA Brazil World cup.
Previously Andrea was instrumental in setting up bp's Strategic Partnering business establishing 20 global strategic collaborations with many of the world's largest corporations.

Anna is HR Manager at ICVCM, with responsibility for the delivery and development of the HR function. She joined the team in December 2024, bringing a background in a wide range of organisations from small start ups to the Civil Service.
Anna was previously Chief People Officer at PowerON Platforms, an IT consultancy, where she built the HR function from the ground up. Anna's HR ethos is to use policy, learning & development and people practices to help create an environment where employees can thrive, and business performance is accelerated. Her team was shortlisted for a CIPD People Management Award in 2024 for innovation in Learning & Development. Beyond IT, Anna has gained experience from the Civil Service, university and recruitment sectors, and has a degree in History from the University of Reading.

Biography
Annette L. Nazareth currently serves as the Chair of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (Integrity Council), an independent governance body that evolved from the Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets (TSVCM), where she served as Operating Lead.
Annette has devoted significant attention to virtually all aspects of the body's workstreams, and has represented the Integrity Council in venues across the globe. Annette has decades of experience in financial services regulation and corporate governance. She currently serves as Senior Counsel at the global law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, having previously served as a Partner of the firm and the head of the Washington DC office. Annette also led the firm's Trading and Markets practice within the Financial Institutions Group. She was a key player in U.S. financial services regulation for nearly a decade, most notably as a Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and as the SEC's Director of the Division of Trading and Markets.

Asmah Dahag is the Assurance Manager for the Integrity Council (ICVCM), the global governance body setting and enforcing threshold quality standards for the voluntary carbon market. At ICVCM, she enjoys working with programs to ensure global standards in voluntary carbon markets are met.
Prior to this, Asmah was an experienced Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance and Assurance Manager with a career spanning over 15 years. Asmah has helped organisations within Central Government, Public Sector, International Development sectors across Africa, the Middle East, and the UK, understand, navigate, and respond to their risks and opportunities.

Biography
Bill Winters is the Group Chief Executive of Standard Chartered PLC (since Jun ‘15). Standard Chartered is a UK headquartered, emerging markets focussed bank, with a presence in 59 markets across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Bill spent 26 years with JP Morgan and was Co CEO of the Investment Bank (2004-2009). He has served as a committee member of the Independent Commission on Banking, established by the UK Govt (2010) and as an advisor to the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards. Bill also founded Renshaw Bay, a credit fund which he ran from 2011-2015.
Bill is deeply engaged in driving the climate finance agenda. Under his leadership, Standard Chartered chairs the Net Zero Banking Alliance. Bill chaired the Taskforce for Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets, a global private-sector initiative that developed a roadmap to scale high integrity carbon markets. Bill also co-Chairs the B20 Taskforce for Finance & Infrastructure, which has a special focus on unlocking finance for green infrastructure.

Dr. Blas L. Pérez Henríquez is a Senior Research Scholar at the Precourt Institute for Energy at Stanford University and leads the Stanford Mexico Clean Economy 2050 program. He founded and serves as Director of the California-Global Energy, Water & Infrastructure Innovation Initiative at Stanford University, focusing on regional low-carbon development opportunities. His research and teaching centres on policy analysis to advance clean innovation through novel technological, business, policy, and social solutions for a new clean economy and a net zero, carbon neutral future.

Carl is a Director of South South North (SSN) where, in addition to overseeing a portfolio of climate related programmes, he is in charge of contracting, risk, and compliance. He was the Regional Director for Africa of the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) for seven years and before that, led the implementation of Africa's first Clean Development Mechanism project, the Kuyasa (CDM) Project, which introduced solar water heating and energy efficiency to South Africa's low-income housing programme.

Biography
Catherine is a financial services professional and an elected member (Common Councillor) of the City of London Corporation. She served as the City's Chair of Policy & Resources 2017-2022, leading on its work with the financial and related professional services sector.
She represents the City on a number of green finance initiatives, including the Steering Committee of the UK Voluntary Carbon Markets Forum, the Distinguished Advisory Group of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market, and is also a member of the Scottish Taskforce for Green and Sustainable Financial Services.
Catherine holds a portfolio of board positions, including being a non-executive director of Connected Places Catapult, the board of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI), and as an independent Council member at City, University of London.
A solicitor by training, she practised in financial services law for several years. Catherine studied PPE at St Anne's College, Oxford.

Biography
Chris is responsible for carbon markets trading strategy and product development for Standard Chartered. Chris is a member of the Climate Impact X (CIX) management team, co-lead on the SMI's FSTF carbon markets working group and serves as a member of the CPLC's Advisory Group. Chris has over 25 years of commodity markets experience and was previously at Barclays where he was Global Head of Environmental Markets Sales and before that at Merrill Lynch where he set up their carbon emissions trading business. He was a founder member of the Carbon Markets and Investors Association (CMIA) and was the Chair of the Power Trading Forum a division of the Futures and Options Association (FOA).

Chris is a seasoned digital communications professional with over 20 years of experience, currently serving as the Senior Digital Communications Manager at ICVCM. His expertise lies in spearheading the development and execution of engaging, multichannel digital communication strategies that are driven by data and insights, along with producing high-quality content that resonates with diverse audiences.
Previously, Chris held the position of Transformation Lead for Digital Communications at Zero Waste Scotland, where he was instrumental in developing a transformative digital communications strategy that aligned with organisational goals and customer insights. There, he championed digital innovation, leading initiatives in stakeholder management and team development, and played a key role in driving behaviour change.
In a previous role at Zero Waste Scotland, as the Digital Communications Lead, Chris was responsible for overseeing a large suite of websites, delivering content strategies, and managing digital marketing campaigns.
Chris has held a variety of communications roles at not for profits and environmental NGOs, where he set the strategic direction for digital communications.
When not working, Chris loves spending time with his family, dogs and coaching his sons football team. He loves movies, music, walks in the Scottish hills or beaches, and supporting various sports teams - some better than others!

Clare is a Project Officer at ICVCM.
Clare has previously worked across the private and public sector focusing on projects supporting regulatory change within Investment Banks and Legal Operations management. Having become interested through her work on ESG, Clare returned to study and gained a Masters in Leadership for Sustainable Rural Development which led her ultimately to ICVCM.

From 2013 to 2016, Clara was an External Member of the Bank of England's Financial Policy Committee (FPC). She served as a non-executive Director of Vodafone Group Plc until July 2023 and Amadeus IT Group S.A. until June 2022, and as a non-executive Director of Nomura Holdings from June 2010 to March 2017. She also sat on the Board of the UK's Department for Work and Pensions for six years.
Clara was Chief Executive of the London Stock Exchange from January 2001 to May 2009 and held various non-executive roles during that time. Before that, she served as Group Chief Executive of Credit Lyonnais Rouse and spent 15 years at UBS.
Her career encompasses a wide array of global financial markets, starting as a commodities broker in 1979. Clara received her BSc (Econ.) from the London School of Economics in 1979, speaks multiple European languages, and has achieved numerous career milestones and awards, including being named in the TIME 100 in 2007. She was made a Dame Commander of the British Empire in 2008 for her contribution to the Financial Services industry.
Clara Furse is the Chairman of HSBC UK, and a non-executive Director of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. Since March 2021, she has chaired the UK Voluntary Carbon Markets Forum, dedicated to establishing a global, high-integrity market for voluntary carbon credits to expedite the transition to net zero.

Daniel is the Director of BIOCARBON. He currently serves as the Director of the Forest Carbon and Climate Program at Michigan State University. He has over 15 years of experience in climate change diplomacy, including driving multilateral environmental agreements and carbon markets regulation.
During COP21 in Paris, he served as Minister of the Environment of Ecuador and was entrusted with the role of Co-Chair of the REDD+ Ministerial negotiations by the French Presidency. He has an MSc in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University and holds a PhD in Public Policy and Management from The Ohio State University.

Danielle is an experienced PMO with a wide range of experience in both the public and private sectors. She has a degree in Communication Studies and holds several project management qualifications.
Currently, she works as a Programme Coordinator at the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM). Before this, she was PMO and Group CEO's Office Coordinator at Landmark Group, where she led teams on different projects. Danielle has also worked on system integration projects in Leisure & Hospitality, Media, Local Government, and the NHS, helping drive digital changes.
In her free time, Danielle enjoys long walks, going to the gym, and watching documentaries.

Biography
Debbie is the Policy and Implementation Director at the ICVCM. She is responsible for overseeing the ICVCM's technical work as well as the development of processes to support the Assessment Framework and Assessment Process. She is part of the strategic team guiding the work of the secretariat.
Debbie is a seasoned climate and sustainability advisor with over 25 years' experience in the UN climate process. She is a former climate and carbon market negotiator for the US and has served as an advisor to the UNFCCC on carbon markets, capacity building and technology.

Biography
Dee is the co-founder and director of the non-profit organizations High Tide Foundation, Cool Effect and Proyecto Mirador, a clean cookstove carbon credit project. She has more than 14 years experience in the voluntary carbon market and has first-hand knowledge of how projects can reduce emissions while providing meaningful benefits to local communities. In her view, the Voluntary Carbon Market is a financial mechanism that can have a significant and measurable impact on climate change mitigation.

Denis Machnik is the Co-Teamlead of the Climate Policy Program at Berlin-based think tank, adelphi. He leads projects on the voluntary carbon market and MRV of greenhouse gas emissions. Among other things, he was responsible for the analysis of the voluntary carbon market in Germany in 2021 on behalf of the Federal Environment Agency.
Previously, he worked as a project manager at atmosfair gGmbH. In this role, he developed and managed CDM and GS projects in Honduras, India, Kenya, Tanzania and Thailand. He was also responsible for evaluating new technologies for use in the voluntary carbon market. Denis holds a Diploma in Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin with a focus on GHG accounting.

Biography
Derik Broekhoff has over 20 years of experience in energy and climate policy. His current work focuses on the effective design and implementation of carbon markets; the framing, implementation, and regulation of "net zero" climate targets; urban climate change mitigation potential and governance; and state and local climate policy.
Prior to joining SEI, Derik was Vice President for Policy at the Climate Action Reserve in Los Angeles, where he oversaw the development of the Reserve's voluntary carbon offset program and its transition into California's regulatory cap-and-trade program. Before that, he led work for the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Initiative at the World Resources Institute, focusing on how to quantify emission reductions from renewable energy projects.
Derik has advised numerous state, national, and international initiatives related to carbon markets, greenhouse gas accounting, and policy design, including voluntary and regulatory offset programs and programs to reduce emissions from deforestation and degradation (REDD+).
He has a master's degree in public policy (MPP) from the University of California at Berkeley, and a bachelor's degree in international relations from Stanford University.

Dirk Forrister is President and CEO of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), a non-profit business association dedicated to market-based climate policies. With over 200 member companies, IETA is respected globally as a thought leader on strategies to harness the power of markets to deliver climate protection.
Dirk brings a long history of public and private sector engagement in energy and environmental policy. He spent a decade as Managing Director at Natsource LLC, the manager of carbon funds valued at $1.2 billion. Earlier in his career, Mr. Forrister served as Chairman of the White House Climate Change Task Force in the Clinton Administration, and Assistant U.S. Secretary of Energy for Congressional and Public Affairs. His environmental markets career began when he advised Congressman Jim Cooper, a leader in crafting the US acid rain trading legislation in 1990.

Doris has more than 25 years' senior leadership experience in international financial markets, including roles as Group Chief Operating Officer and Head of Market Risk at global banks. Mr. Emilio Sempris is the former Minister of Environment for the Government of Panama. He has over 20 years of experience in climate change, water resources management, environmental modelling, satellite monitoring, and international cooperation for sustainable development. He served as Director General of the Water Centre for the Humid Tropics of Latin American and the Caribbean and worked as a consultant for UNDP, IDB, UN-WHO, UNEP, and USAID.

Biography
Farrukh was a senior member of the then UN Secretary General's Ban Ki Moon Climate Team. He led global negotiations on the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals, establishing the Adaptation Fund, Green Climate Fund, promoting carbon foot printing, and incubating several markets led voluntary solutions by the financial sector to manage climate risks.

Biography
Felipe is an independent advisor and an international climate change consultant who specializes in just decarbonization policy, monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) and transparency system design and the application of carbon pricing instruments to climate change mitigation. Felipe has over 15 years' experience working on climate change projects in over a dozen countries including Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Puerto Rico, México and Colombia. His recent work has focused on the development of Costa Rica's National Climate Change Metrics System (SINAMECC), the modeling efforts on climate action and coordinating the update of Costa Rica's Nationally Determined Contribution, as well as participating in the UNFCCC negotiations as Article 6 Negotiator for Costa Rica and Article 6 Coordinator for AILAC.
He has collaborated with a variety of organizations including the IDB, AFD, World Bank, GIZ, UNDP, UNEP, ICAT, CBIT, CAF as well as private and public sector entities. He is currently coordinating the partial re-structuring of Costa Rica's Ministry of Environment and Energy to better prepare it to lead the transition to a just, decarbonized, adapted and resilient future and to provide a permanent institutional home for the country's climate action modeling ecosystem and strategic planning processes which he has helped develop over the last 6 years.
Felipe has also contributed to over a dozen professional and academic articles and as a speaker at numerous conferences and workshops. He also serves on a variety of expert advisory boards and committees.
Fin Whitehouse is a Project Officer within the Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPs & LCs) team at the ICVCM. With a professional background in Sustainable Development, and a track record of coordinating sustainable infrastructure projects, he made a conscious career shift and joined the IPs & LCs team to make a genuine difference to the People and Communities who will be most impacted by climate change and whose knowledge is pivotal if we are to limit warming to 1.5˚C.

Francisco Souza is a member of the Apurinã Indigenous People from the Brazilian Amazon. With over 30 years of experience on areas related to forest and biodiversity conservation, climate finance, community-led development, Indigenous Peoples rights in 40+ countries led by, for, and together with Indigenous Peoples and local communities worldwide. He is member of the governing board of the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (IC-VCM), and the Senior Vice President for the Global Indigenous Peoples and Local Center with Conservation International. He has worked and support the rights, self-development, and grantmaking actions in a territory of 1.2 billion hectares of community managed landscape in the planet. He is a former Managing Director of the FSC Indigenous Foundation and also collaborated with different international organizations including Hivos, WWF, Rainforest Alliance, IADB, IDRC, private foundations, and governments. Francisco served as member of the IPLC Advisory Panel with Emergent for the LEAF Coalition. He is an economist with Ph.D. in Environmental Science and master's degree in Tropical Conservation and Development.

Grace Gamble is an Intern at the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM), providing support to the wider Public Affairs team. She holds a BSc in Geography and MSc in Global Sustainability Solutions from the University of Exeter.
Prior to joining ICVCM, Grace worked as a Sustainability Research Intern for Lloyds Banking Group, where she analysed complex information to inform suggestions for improvements to the bank's Scope 3 emissions reduction strategy.
Grace has a long-standing commitment to driving change for a sustainable future demonstrated through various professional and extracurricular engagements alongside her studies. She now looks forward to contributing to the advancement of transparent and impactful climate solutions to enable transition towards a low-carbon economy.

Biography
Mr. Dilhan Pillay was appointed Executive Director and CEO of Temasek Holdings in 2021 and is concurrently the CEO of Temasek International, a position he has held since 2019. Mr. Pillay has held various leadership roles in Temasek, including Head of the Investment, the Portfolio Management and the Enterprise Development Groups. Mr. Fu Chengyu is the member of National Science and Technology Committee for Carbon Neutrality of China. He is the Vice Chair, China International Council for the Promotion of Multinational Corporations (CICPMC); Vice Chair, China Enterprise Federation (CEF) and China Entrepreneur Association (CEA); Vice Chair, Beijing International Energy Club; Chairman, CEO Alliance of CKGSB. He is the Funding Director of China International Academy for Carbon Neutrality.
He was Chairman and CEO of CNOOC, Chairman of SINOPEC, member of the 17th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of CPC and member of the 12th Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a political advisory body in China. He was a member of the Board of the Trustees, The University of Southern California and The Board Member of UNGC.
He is now a professor in Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB). He is also Honorary Chairman of the UN Global Compact Network China. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Center for Global Energy Policy, Columbia University, and member of the University Council of Shanghai Tech University.
