Dr. Kianna Spencer is a Pennsylvania native where she grew up riding, showing and breeding Quarter Horses. She is a proud graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, she spent two years in private practice on the east coast working primarily with Standardbred racehorses before returning to school to pursue specialty training in reproduction. Dr. Spencer completed a residency and Masters in Theriogenology in 2023 from the University of Illinois. She looks forward to bringing her knowledge of advanced reproductive techniques to Independence Equine. She is especially passionate about helping subfertile mares pass on superior genetics and carry foals, maintaining broodmare health throughout pregnancy and foaling and troubleshooting reproductive failure in the stallion. In her spare time, Dr. Spencer enjoys listening to country music, riding horses and spending time with her dog Jolene and two cats Suzy and Lyla.

Dr. Matt Gomulak

Dr. Matt Gomulak grew up in the isolated rural town of Danbury, Wisconsin with his 5 siblings. He attended River Falls University as an undergrad and earned a Bachelor's of Science in Animal Science. He then completed his veterinary education at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, concentrating on equine medicine and surgery. After school, the horse rich lands of Texas called and the move made perfect sense. Dr. Matt has been practicing equine medicine and surgery in North Texas for the past 14 years. In addition to his veterinary work, Dr. Matt has 5 children and enjoys starting his own young reining stock.

James Blake Watson

Dr. Watson is an associate veterinarian within our practice that grew up right here in Frisco, TX. After graduating from Frisco High School, Dr. Watson went on to Texas A&M University for his undergraduate in Animal Science and his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Watson spent his first years of practice in a livestock-based mixed animal practice where he worked on animals of all shapes and sizes. He then moved on to exclusively small animal medicine with a heavy emphasis on emergency medicine and general practice In his free time, Dr. Watson enjoys working with his sporting dogs, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.
