Jamie McGann

Jamie McGann is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Health and Human Performance at DCU and the ADAPT Centre. He has extensive experience in the field having worked as a primary teacher for ten years. His PhD, from the School of Computer Science and Statistics, Trinity College Dublin, was concerned with the design, development and evaluation of 3D sensor controlled video games to improve motor skills & related cognition in the classroom. His current research is concerned with relationships between movement skills and cognitive skills and design/development of educational technology to support Physical Literacy.

Johann Issartel

Job Titles:
  • Associate Professor in the School of Health and Human
Johann Issartel is an Associate Professor in the School of Health and Human Performance, at DCU, with significant expertise in motor control and motor and cognitive development in children. From 2006-2008 he was a Research Fellow in Multisensory Motor Interactions at Queen's University Belfast. While there he worked on Multimodal Characterization of Human Movements. He received his PhD in 2006 in Human Movement Sciences from the University Montpellier in France, with his PhD entitled "Unintended Interpersonal Motor Co-ordination: Methodological and Experimental Contributions". He is current chair of the PE Teacher Education Program at DCU.
