MIR INSTITUTE

The Institute for Mobility and Infrastructure in Rural Areas (MIR) is part of the Faculties of Business Information Systems, Business Administration and Engineering and Digital Media at Furtwangen University. It was founded in the summer semester of 2021 to deal with, among other things, areas of sustainable mobility and infrastructure in rural areas. Topics here are primarily the mobility situation and the expansion of public transport in rural areas, the use of other sustainable alternatives such as carpooling, the reduction of CO2 emissions and, in the course of this, the reduction of the ecological footprint.
