Carol Valladao has served Berkeley Lab in multiple key operational management roles over more than 18 years. Valladao has managed diverse teams of researchers from multiple university, national lab, and industry partners on projects from proposal development through project completion.

Carolyn Callahan Remick is the Operations Director of NAWI at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). Prior to joining LBNL, Remick was the Executive Director of the National Science Foundation Challenge Institute for Quantum Computation and the U.S./China Clean Energy Research Center for Water-Energy Technologies at the University of California, Berkeley. Remick has also worked as an Executive Director for the Berkeley Water Center, which leverages Berkeley research to accelerate groundbreaking solutions for the world's water problems.

Matt Ringer is NREL's Laboratory Program Manager for Advanced Manufacturing, overseeing the portfolio of science and engineering research completed on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy's Advanced Manufacturing Office (AMO). He ensures NREL researchers and engineers working on AMO projects provide high-quality, groundbreaking results to our clients. Ringer also serves as the business development manager for NREL's Mechanical and Thermal Engineering Sciences Directorate and engages with industry partners and academia to leverage the directorate's capabilities in advancing new energy technologies.

Meagan Mauter is an Associate Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Stanford University. She directs the Water and Energy Efficiency for the Environment Lab (WE3Lab) with the mission of providing sustainable water supply in a carbon-constrained world through innovation in water treatment technology, optimization of water management practices, and redesign of water policies. Her present research seeks novel approaches to sustainably meet water supply in an energy constrained world by rethinking the policies surrounding water treatment, redefining the inputs to the treatment process, and re-envisioning the membranes in membrane-based water treatment processes.

Peter S. Fiske is the founder and Executive Director of NAWI and the Director of the Water-Energy Resilience Research Institute (WERRI) at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Prior to joining Berkeley Lab, Fiske was the Chief Executive Officer of PAX Water Technologies, Inc. from 2008 until January 2017 when it was acquired by UGSI Inc. PAX Water pioneered the use of biomimicry to develop innovative and energy-efficient technologies for the water industry. PAX Water won a number of national water industry awards, and its iconic Lily impeller technology was featured in a major design exhibit at the New York Museum of Modern Art.
