Edward Hassen is a senior insurance industry executive with global experience in product /project management for diverse initiatives ranging from enterprise implementations to large-scale process improvements/changes within high-tech settings. He is a thought leader and offers unique expertise in consumer-focused product management and insurance technology, with an emphasis in business software, Cloud-based, and web services, and products. He is experienced in full cycle management from concept, definition, and launch to iteration, marked by proven record delivering innovative, highly successful, and scalable products to market.
He began his 25+ year insurance industry career at Zurich North America tasked with revitalizing and upgrading underwriting operational efficiency, and developing diverse policy issuance systems. In addition, he managed the Commercial Lines-Specialty Program for the company while systematizing manual processes. He directed major policy issuance systems upgrades, including The Policy Form Issuance Project and the development of a New Rating Module.
He later joined AIG as a Project Leader leading the implementation of a $3M underwriting system project with over $5BN in annual premium and 180,000+ transactions. Edward successfully leveraged business application enhancement requirements, integrity of data for key reporting and transaction processing systems. At AIG, he was promoted to the critical role of Project Manager at Policy Administration Solutions and driving the company's underwriting package. He was promoted again to Senior Information Officer at AIG managing highly complex global projects. Edward holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Accounting and a prestigious CPCU Designation.
In the past 25 years, he has been a founder, investor, board member, and leader of international organizations. Emanuell was co-creator and partner in one of the initial wireless speech recognition software product and integration companies, Wirenix, which was acquired by a European Telecom giant. He has also lead startup Edgesys RFID a builder of RFID POS and logistics application systems, startup incubator emaxers Inc, and Edgesys, a consulting services organization servicing the P&C insurance industry in the US.
