Dr Bryn Ellis

Dr Bryn Ellis is a specialist registrar in anaesthesia and joined NWEDS in 2016. He is currently a RNLI deputy coxswain and helmsman at Pwllheli Lifeboat Station and is an active member of the RNLI flood rescue team. He has 8 years experience in maritime emergencies and as part of his role he has been involved with clinical governance reviews of medical cases for the RNLI. Since being a medical student, DR Ellis has shown interest in pre-hospital medicine and worked closely with Welsh Ambulance Service.

Dr Dafydd Williams

Dafydd Williams is a specialist registrar in anaesthetics & intensive care at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. He has Paediatric Intensive Care experience as well as experience from the Wales Air Ambulance and is the current team doctor for Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue Team. He is from Ynys Môn originally and a fluent Welsh speaker.

Dr Hayley Jones

Hayley is a GP registrar at Bronmeirion Surgery, Penrhyndeudraeth and the team doctor for Tîm Achub Mynydd Dê Eryri / South Snowdonia Search & Rescue team. She has an interest in pre-hospital medicine and is involved in teaching emergency medical and trauma care to local mountain rescue teams in the North Wales Region.

Dr Mike Bloom

Dr Suman Mitra

Job Titles:

  • Consultant Anaesthetist & Chairman
Dr Suman Mitra is a Consultant Anaesthetist at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor and founding member of NWEDS. His interest in pre-hospital care started during his training in University Hospital of North Staffordshire which is one of the Major Trauma Centres in United Kingdom. Since then he has undertaken training in adult, paediatric and pre-hospital lifesaving skills. Dr Mitra regularly trains paramedics and doctors in Pre-Hospital Care. He is currently the chairman of the charity.

Dr Tom Windsor-Lewis

Dr Tom Windsor-Lewis. GP partner at Tywyn Health Centre, Meirionnydd. Long-standing interest & involvement in pre-hospital care and motorsport medicine. Before joining NWEDS was part of Aberdyfi Mountain Rescue Team. Continues to have an active interest in education and training health care professionals from all fields.

Dr. David Wilson

Dr. David Wilson is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine in Chester. His interest began whilst a medical student in Scotland and continued in his training throughout the North West of England. Dr. Wilson has regularly provided medical cover for motorsport events at both international and local levels and is one of the Chief Medical Officers at Oulton Park racing circuit where he acts at the Paramedic liaison. Dr Wilson instructs and organises different courses relevant to trauma care and scene safety and has instructed on medical care for mountain rescue teams in North Wales.

Ian Binnington

Ian Binnington is a Paramedic Clinical Team Leader who works for the Welsh Ambulance Service based in Wrexham. He has also worked on the Wales Air Ambulance and North Wales Police Air Support Unit in his Paramedic role. Ian has completed an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and is an instructor for the Resus Council for Advanced Life Support Courses. Ian enjoys Motorsports and provides Paramedic support at various race circuits and events throughout the UK. Ian joined NWEDS in 2019.

Jason Williams

Job Titles:
  • Senior Paramedic & Tactical Commander ( Welsh Ambulance Service )
Jason is a Senior Paramedic and Tactical Commander with the Welsh Ambulance Services. He has over 32 years experience as a paramedic and 10 years of experience in aviation, hostile and remote medicine, specialising in flight medicine and is also a flight paramedic, pilot and director of ARTS international repatriation and transport services. He has a passion for complex trauma and medical emergencies, which drives him to always excel in what he does and support the development and education of others as a lecturer of paramedic science for Robert Gordon University.

Keith Dorrington

Established Paramedic working with the Welsh Ambulance Service, qualified as a paramedic in 2004. Keen interest in delivering prehospital care in the critical setting, previous role within the ambulance service as a Learning and Development Manager. Not only striving to deliver clinical excellence, Keith is passionate about education and supporting other clinicians to achieve their potential. When not in work, Keith enjoys photography and Scuba Diving.
