The staff at the Ohio Lawyers Assistance Program knows that it is difficult to ask for help when you are struggling. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. We also understand your concerns about privacy, which is why OLAP is governed by strong rules of confidentiality. No one will ever know you called... Once we have established a relationship with a client, the real work begins. We meet with each client individually to diagnose what is going on. We conduct a full confidential substance abuse and mental health assessment... We give close to 50 CLE presentations each year, reaching an estimate live audience approaching 5,000. We also speak at all the Ohio law schools, providing information at first year orientations and professional responsibility classes. We speak not only about substance abuse/chemical dependency, but also mental health issues affecting the profession.
