Offbase was founded in 2009, as Double Tap Surplus. Our founder ran into an issue many military members face. He was issued tactical gear by his unit, but it wasn't always the best quality or to his liking. He found that the options locally were on opposite ends of the spectrum; New tactical gear could be very expensive, but many surplus stores seemed stuck in a bygone era... The solution was a blending of these two principles. Bring high quality products to market, at a price an individual could bear. We focus on the end user, and try to bring affordable alternatives to higher end products. We work with manufacturers, government contractors, other retailers, and others to secure excess or end of life items that we can then turn around and bring back with high savings levels to the customer...
