AKIO YOKOYAMA

Job Titles:
  • Avionics Engineer, R & D Department
After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he joined Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. After 4 years of research and development of wireless communication equipment at the Research Institute, he worked for 6 years in the development of artificial satellites. He joined Interstellar Technologies in 2022 and is currently responsible for the development of avionics systems. He has presented at conferences and has published papers and patents.

AKIRA HAYASAKA

He studied automatic control of unmanned aerial vehicles at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Engineering. After graduation, he worked at Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. for five years. He has experience in new development and technical testing of propulsion systems for helicopters and aircraft engines. He joined Interstellar Technologies in 2021 and has been primarily involved in the design of ZERO's navigation, guidance, and control systems, as well as the design of flight analysis simulators.

HIROYOSHI MAEDA

After graduating from a local technical high school, he worked in a variety of manufacturing companies, including an ironworks, a construction company, and an electromagnet manufacturer, and was involved in the launch of Interstellar Technologies in 2013. He currently works in the manufacturing of launch vehicles, with a special focus on welding. He has also been involved in the operation of large heavy machinery and building construction, using his experience at an ironworks construction company.

HITOMI ENDOH

He studied combustion engineering at the Graduate School of Hokkaido University. After graduation, he worked as a construction manager in the shipbuilding industry, but later returned to Hokkaido, where he was born and raised. He has expertise in gas generators and injectors for rocket engines and serves as the Propulsion Group Leader.

KAZUFUMI IKEMOTO

After graduating from Tokyo Institute of Technology, he worked as an engine test engineer at Honda R&D Co.,Ltd. He then joined Interstellar Technologies. For MOMO, he was in charge of guidance control design and flight analysis. For ZERO, he is the systems manager responsible for overall rocket design analysis.

KAZUNORI MAKINO

After specializing in numerical simulations at the University of Toyama Graduate School, he worked at Victor Entertainment Inc. for 7 years. After launching online music distribution services, he ventured out on his own to start developing rocket engines independently. In 2007, he joined "Natsu no Rocket-dan", predecessor to Interstellar Technologies. In 2013, he became the first CEO of Interstellar Technologies and led the successful launch of the Pocky rocket. Following that, due to medical treatment, he shifted his focus to supporting development from the ICT infrastructure side and now also leads the radio control group.

KAZUYA MATSUMOTO

After graduating from university, he worked for 15 years as a design and production engineer for a vehicle manufacturer, from engine design to mass production line construction. During this time, he gained experience in working overseas, team management and technology development.

KEIJI ATSUTA

Job Titles:
  • General Manager, Business Development Department
After graduating from Kyushu University, he worked for Mitsubishi Corporation, where he was in charge of overseas sales and business investment in the automotive industry. While stationed overseas, he was transferred to an invested subsidiary and was involved in corporate planning and strategy development. He then joined Frontier Management Inc. and was involved in the development and implementation of medium to long term strategies for small and medium sized companies, mainly in the food manufacturing and restaurant industry. He joined Interstellar Technologies in January 2022.

KOZO TAKAOKA

Job Titles:

Worked on the ""Kit Kat exam support campaign"" and led Kit Kat's business to the best in the world. Until March 2020, built a Nescafe ambassador model by DX as the president and CEO of Nestle Japan Co., Ltd. From April 2020, a producer of innovative creation through DX as the representative director of K&Company Co., Ltd.

MASAKAZU MITO

After graduating from Doshisha University, he joined Softbank Investment (now SBI Investment Co., Ltd.) in 2005. As a venture capitalist, he was in charge of funds in Japan, Singapore, and India, and was involved in venture investment, M&A, and IPO support for invested companies. In 2016, he established Nippon Creative Investment Inc. with an investment budget of 3 billion yen to make buyout investments in business succession and turnaround of small and medium-sized companies.

NAOTO YAMAGISHI

After graduating from the University of Electro-Communications, he worked at Honda Motor Co., Ltd. for 13 years. He was a development manager of electronic throttle systems for large motorcycles. He joined Interstellar Technologies with a desire to realize a low-cost, mass-produced rocket by 2020 by utilizing the methods and know-how of automotive development. He is currently responsible for the development and management of the Mechatronics Group, which is in charge of mechanical system development and rocket equipment design.

NORIAKI OKUBO

After graduating from Doshisha University in 1996, he started his professional career at a trading company in Tokyo. In 2002, he joined Livin'On the Edge(later Livedoor). As a Senior Executive Officer of the International Business Division, he was responsible for leading the company's cross-border M&A strategy and growing its overseas business. In 2007, he became the Managing Director of Japan/Asia at IgnitionOne. Since 2013, he has been a founding member of Scentan Ventures, a venture capital firm that primarily invests in early to middle-stage companies in the US and Europe. In 2019, he was appointed to the board of directors of Interstellar Technologies.

RYOHEI TANAKA

Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University. As an Assistant Professor at Kyoto University, he was engaged in basic research on X-ray physics and applied research on statistical processing of metallic materials analysis and measurement data for 4 years. During this time, he received numerous awards from academic societies and published numerous books. Currently, he is responsible for the design and development of engine components and collaborative materials research in industry, government, and academia.

SATOMI TAKAHASHI

After graduating from Hokkaido University of Education, worked as a writer for a local newspaper. After working as an editor of an in-house free magazine, she was involved in planning and new business development of subsidiaries in the sales department. She joined Interstellar Technologies in July 2021.

SATOSHI NAKAMURA

He studied thermal fluids at university and spent 15 years with a vehicle manufacturer. Immediately after joining the company, he was involved in the development of engine components. Then, after gaining experience working on fuel consumption, performance and exhaust of many gasoline engines, he worked on packaging new turbocharged gasoline engines. He is currently responsible for turbopumps.

SATOSHI NAKAYAMA

After graduation, he joined Mitsubishi Precision Company, Limited. For 12 years, he was involved in the development of on-board equipment for rockets and satellites. As a project manager, he was responsible for the development of navigation sensors to be installed on major rockets in Japan. He joined Interstellar Technologies in January 2021, where he was responsible for avionics development, reliability design, and quality assurance, and was appointed General Manager of the R&D Department in September of that year. He has published papers, presented at conferences, patented technologies, and received awards in the field of space equipment.

SHOTA KOTANI

After graduating from an industrial high school in Hokkaido, he worked for a dairy manufacturer. Wanting to use his skills as a production manager and machine operator in a different field, he joined Interstellar Technologies in 2020. He is currently in charge of production engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and launch operations, as well as management as the Manufacturing Engineering Group Leader.

SHOTA YAMANAKA

After graduating from the University of Tokyo, spent 6 years in rocket development at IHI Aerospace Inc. Experienced in overall rocket design, flight safety, and production engineering for Epsilon, SS-520, etc.

SUMIO MORIOKA

Job Titles:
  • Senior Fellow, R & D Department
After receiving a Ph.D. degree in computer science from Osaka University in 1997, engaged in academic research of LSI design, cyber security and Cyber Physical Systems, and in development of famous commercial products such as the PlayStation Portable, at research laboratories of NTT Corporation, IBM Japan, Ltd., Sony Corporation, and NEC Corporation, respectively. Recipient of Sony MVP 2004 award etc. After that, he was stationed in London for 4 years at Imperial College London and NEC Europe in research, corporate planning and new business development. In 2016, he joined Interstellar Technologies Inc. and leads the corporate management and the research and development of on-board computer systems.

TAKAFUMI HORIE - Founder

While a student at the University of Tokyo, started his own Internet-related company, Livedoor Inc. In 2006, he joined ""Natsu no Rocket-dan"", the forerunner organization of Interstellar Technologies. He became a board member in 2017.

Takahiro Inagawa - CEO

Job Titles:

Master's in mechanical and physical engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology. As a student, he designed human-powered airplanes and hybrid rockets. After graduating, he joined Interstellar Technologies, his current position since 2014.

TETSU KATAGIRI

Job Titles:

Graduated from Ritsumeikan University. After joining PERSOL CAREER Co. Ltd., he worked as the recruiting manager for the SIXPAD brand at MTG Inc. Then, he worked as the Operations Manager of EVERING Co. Ltd. and as the head of recruiting for Libry Corporation. He has been in his current position since July 2022.

TORU KOBAYASHI - CFO

Graduated from Kyoto University, Faculty of Economics. While a student, qualified as a Registered Smaller Enterprise Consultant. Experienced in corporate sales and credit operations at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, and he joined Interstellar Technologies in 2016. As CFO and General Manager of the Administration Division, he is responsible for the company's finance, accounting, legal, and other administrative functions.
