Alan Munoz

Alan has worked for many outdoor living companies throughout the years, learning all the different trades. He is very passionate about customer service, always doing his best to exceed his client's expectations at every opportunity. He looks forward to assisting you with your project.

Chris MacMillan

Job Titles:
  • Design Consultant
Born and raised right here in sunny San Diego. He attended Point Loma Nazarene University on a baseball scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration/Finance. Chris starting out working for and managing his family's landscaping business in North County, which has been around since the late 70's. He then started his own landscape construction company focused on outdoor custom living spaces. He enjoys designing beautiful/functional outdoor experiences to help customers in San Diego take advantage of their outdoor space. When he is not designing spaces for clients he enjoys getting outdoors and spending it will his beautiful family - two gorgeous daughters, his lovely wife and rescue labrador. Some of those outdoor activities include camping, hiking, boating, rock climbing, snow boarding, surfing, and just about anything else fun outdoors. Chris is very much looking forward to assisting you with your project.

Dennis Caldwell

Landscape design and construction has been Dennis' passion since 2005. He has designed and managed a wide variety of landscape projects from small backyard living spaces to large developments. Prior to his landscaping career, he served in the United States Air Force as an acquisition officer and graduated with a BBA from the University of Georgia. In his spare time, he loves to play with his daughter, surf, and sail. He is looking forward to working with you on your project.

Jamie Whittaker

Jamie graduated from SDSU with a hospitality major and went on to start two successful businesses. When it came time to start a family she knew she needed to seek other opportunities that would allow her to spend time with her family while still being apart of a successful business that is passionate about customer service and giving back to the community. She is a lover of travel, off the beaten path venues, and once in a lifetime experiences.

Jonathan Smith

Jonathan Smith is an Alabama native who relocated to Southern California in 2015. He's a creative with a knack for Marketing, Advertising and excellent Customer Service. Jonathan attended San Diego Mesa College where he studied Journalism and Public Relations. Jonathan has lived all across the United States; New York City, Miami, Los Angeles and now here in San Diego. He loves being outdoors hiking, running, swimming and doing yoga! His eye for interior design is what's now brought him to our team where he wants to expand his pallet and learn a lot more about outdoor design!

Leilani Matanane

Job Titles:

Leilani has spent most of her life in sunny San Diego. She enjoys the behind the scenes of the administrative workings of a company. A natural liaison or go-between, she makes for a great addition to our customer service team! She loves to express her creative side through hobbies such as photography and apparel design. To balance out the hectic demands of her day-to-day life, she stays grounded through fitness, yoga, and meditation.

Luke Whittaker - CEO, Founder

Graduated from Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo with a double major in Biomedical Engineering and Statistics. After graduating, Luke worked for GenProbe, a biotech company located in San Diego, Ca. He realized that his passion for people, innovation and his entrepreneurial spirit were not being fulfilled. He changed directions to the outdoor design and renovation industry where he worked for one of the largest Pavers/Synthetic-Turf/Design Companies in the U.S. He started in Sales/Design and worked his way up into management learning and gaining as much experience/knowledge as he could absorb. The next step was to follow his passion and create a better system.

Robert Bostedt

Robert was born and raised in San Diego; played collegiate baseball and graduated in May of 2020 with a degree in Business Finance. Before IID he worked as a Chief Estimator & Contracts Manager for a government contractor. He loves creating outdoor living spaces and is looking forward to working with you on your project.

Steve Brown

Steve has been a San Diego resident since 1955. He attended Mater Dei High School & later earned a degree in business administration at Southwestern Community College. Steve's first career spanned 23 years in the B2B contract office supply industry. He owned & operated his own swimming pool construction company designing, planning, and building pools from 2006 to 2010 & has recently earned his certificate of mastery as a project management professional. Steve spends his free time golfing, skiing & regular workouts at his local gym.

Tim Thomas - Founder, President

Originally from Los Angeles, Tim graduated from SDSU in 1988 with a business degree in marketing. He was brought up in a construction environment, his father and grandfather were longtime general contractors, building pools and amazing custom homes. Tim's father was actually a contractor to the stars selling amazing projects to such famous names as Steve McQueen, Raymond Burr, Edward Platt, Bobby Sherman, and Micky Dolenz. Tim owned several businesses including a triathlon store (Tri-Sport in San Diego, La Jolla & Del Mar from 1989-1996), a bar and grill in Pacific Beach (Garnet Grill), and spent 8 years in the wireless telecom industry. Tim is a former competitive swimmer, runner, and pro-tri-athlete, including 8 iron-mans, over 15 marathons, and over 100 other running events/triathlons. He has 2 wonderful children.
