The Boundary Element Method is for acoustics only, typically for the more complicated parts of a loudspeaker such as vented enclosures, multiple drivers, waveguides and radiation. The Boundary Element part of AKABAK can also be used to investigate the response of small rooms and all kinds of other acoustic problems... The Lumped Element Method typically is used to model electro-acoustic structures. The LE-part is very similar to the legacy Akabak, allowing to simulate various responses including filters, electronics, mechanics and acoustics... The Direct Sound Mode calculates an acoustic field without diffraction and reflections. This approximate approach does not need a solving stage. It proves practical practical in estimating the sound pressure distribution of a large scale audience. It also can be used to design cross-over filters for loudspeakers.
