Bruce Hall

  • Senior Emergency Management Associate
Bruce has more than 45 years of experience in the mining industry as a Miner, Supervisor, and Mine Rescue Officer/Consultant, where he has worked to achieve full potential amongst emergency responders. Bruce sets high expectations and has emergency responders, supervisors and emergency control group members consistently meet those expectations by: providing coaching and mentorship support reviewing training program design, delivery, and assessment reviewing risk assessments to identify potential threats and emergencies reviewing emergency equipment selection, testing and maintenance processes Bruce is experienced, motivated and organized. He can make decisions quickly and independently and is comfortable interacting with all levels within companies, emergency response organizations and government agencies. Bruce has worked internationally delivering training to emergency responders and emergency control groups. He was the Chief First Aid judge at the International Mine Rescue Competition in 2016. In his spare time, Bruce enjoys both indoor and outdoor hobbies, including stained-glass work, woodworking and cycling. He is also a snowbird, based out of Arizona for part of the year to escape our harsh Canadian winter.

Carol Ann Griffin

Carol Ann has over 25 years of technical and management experience in the Health & Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) fields. She has worked extensively in both the public and private sectors and her experience spans regulatory interpretation, program development, auditing, site work, and front-line management. Her structured approach to problem-solving and attention to stakeholder inclusion, combined with strong verbal and written communication skills, have supported organizations in developing, implementing and improving programs that focus on the people who are directly impacted by them. Carol Ann has spent the past several years working on remote (FIFO) projects in the construction, mining and hydroelectric sectors in Quebec, Labrador and Nunavut. She is equally at ease working in both French and English. Outside of work, Carol Ann enjoys volunteering with the East Coast Trail Association, the Saint John Ambulance and the annual Writers at Woody Point Festival.

Cynthia Duncan

Cynthia is a Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Professional with more than 15 years of broad-based North American and International experience. Her expertise encompasses systems and program development, project management and quality assurance, and includes compliance, data trending and reporting, incident investigation, training and claims management activities. Recognized as analytical and a strategic thinker, she has a demonstrated ability to build positive, professional relationships with peers, teams, contractors and internal & external stakeholders. In constant pursuit of system and process effectiveness and efficiency, she is also known for her ability to eliminate inefficiencies and streamline processes to get efficient management of time. Cynthia has managed successful project safety teams with a high regard for safety, collaboration and performance, including a number of projects attaining "goal zero" safety and performance. When not at work, Cynthia enjoys spending time at the lake with family, traveling with her husband to warmer climates, and volunteering her time as a mentor for young professionals.

Dylan Short - Founder, Managing Director

Dylan is the founder and Managing Director of The Redlands Group Inc. He has more than 20 years of experience in Health, Safety & Risk Management, including roles as a Business Owner, Vice President Safety and Director Health and Safety. With his strong personal drive to pursue and achieve professional excellence, he not only works to excel in his own professional development and that of his team, he excels at coaching, mentoring and energizing members of work groups at all levels of organizations to achieve their full potential. Dylan is also a sought-after International Keynote Speaker delivering engaging messages focused on Management Systems, Influence, Change and Risk Management. Dylan was awarded the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering's highest award, the 2016 Safety Professional of the Year. In his leisure time, Dylan delights in spending time around and on the lakes and rivers of Ontario cottage country, canoeing, kayaking, hiking and enjoying time with his family. And he's an avid fan at Toronto Raptor's home games!

Elissa Short

Elissa is a full time student in the University of Guelph Environmental Science program. A passionate botanist, Elissa advocates for sustainable life practices that protect our environment for future generations. She is an accomplished student and youth leader, earning her National Lifeguard certification as a water rescue professional trained in emergency care, swim instruction and water safety instruction. Elissa is also a trained indoor rock-climbing instructor and enjoys introducing the technical skills, equipment management, belaying techniques as well as the rewards of top rope and bouldering. In her free time, Elissa can be found rock climbing (top rope, bouldering and lead rope) and exploring the wilderness of Ontario through back country canoe camping.

Lisa Richter

Lisa is a progressive HR professional with comprehensive experience in strategic planning, governance and policy development in private and public sectors.

Stephen Melendy

Stephen has more than 10 years of experience working in Canada and abroad in both the private and public sectors, including municipal, mining, and manufacturing. He expertly combines organizational behaviour with an in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety, Human Resources and Risk Management to act as a strong business partner and collaborative leader. Stephen has a strong personal drive to pursue and achieve professional excellence through coaching, mentoring and energizing employees to reach their fullest potential. He strives to provide a safe collaborative learning environment to create a proactive safety culture and improve safety management systems. When he's not at work you can find Stephen exploring the outdoors in all seasons, camping, hiking, biking, trail running, skiing and snowboarding.
