Alyssa Stevenson

In Alyssa's role of business administrator, she is responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth daily operation of Rock Control. She ensures the bills and wages are paid, everything in the office is stocked, and works hard to support both crew members and managers alike.

Andrew Kitson - Managing Director

As the managing director and owner of Rock Control, Andrew has proudly built the company into a success. Key to this success has been the focus of bringing together the best team and specialist plant, and a relentless curiosity leading to knowledge and innovation brought to every project and every client. With a solid grounding in the civil contracting sector he is truly passionate about all things drilling, grouting and concrete pumping. Andrew has drilled thousands of meters through soil and rock in a variety of environments. His technical expertise across all facets of the business is extensive and his knowledge of different techniques and plant is unparalleled. His 18 years of experience make him the backbone of the company, and his creative and analytical approach to methodology planning always gets the job done efficiently and cost effectively.

Damien Aspros

As the operations manager Damien oversees the crew and projects, ensuring things run smoothly and everyone is looked after. With over 18 years' experience in the construction and mining industries under his belt, he has developed excellent relationships with clients, suppliers and staff all of which contribute to his reputation of delivering successful outcomes. In his role at Rock Control, Damien is responsible for project tendering along with the logistics management and oversight of multiple projects. He works hand-in-hand with the project managers to ensure there is efficient allocation of resources, and that every project is completed and delivered to the owner in the correct timeframe.

Jim Aldridge

Job Titles:
  • Site Supervisor
Jim is a civil contracting professional with 15 years' experience on a range of construction and geotechnical projects throughout New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific. Since joining Rock Control, Jim has attained considerable skills and experience in shotcrete application. He is one of the few shotcrete nozzlemen operating in New Zealand who hold the internationally recognised ACI Shotcrete Nozzleman certification for wet-mix application. As a Site Supervisor, Jim is responsible for directing our specialised crews on a range of drilling and construction projects. Jim puts a lot of thought into a job when assigned as site supervisor, often coming up with solutions to problems that others had not even considered yet, this makes him a huge asset to have on site.

Kasey Cross

Job Titles:
  • Business Support Manager
Kasey helps support the management team to ensure the day-to-day operations run smoothly. Having worked within the engineering industry for over 13 years, and with the recent completion of a Diploma in Business Management and Team Leadership, Kasey is the glue that brings all the operating areas of the business together to form a cohesive and collaborative team. A key responsibility for Kasey is ensuring our ISO 9001 accreditation is implemented and maintained at the leading edge of internationally recognised management systems.

Mark Evans

Job Titles:

Mark is a site manager with over 27 years of experience in piling. He has gained a wealth of technical competence and expertise in a wide range of ground engineering techniques on a range of projects across New Zealand, the Pacific, Europe and Africa. Mark has been a team leader on a number of world class projects involving anchoring, mini piling foundations, grouting of structures and soil nailing on cut slopes. Mark also has experience in leading teams in the construction of diaphragm walls and marine piling.

Nikki Hubbard

Our dedicated business and quality systems manager, Nikki brings a wealth of previous experience and expertise in adult education and industry training. Having attained further qualifications in quality systems management. Nikki focuses on the efficiency and success of safety, environmental and quality aspects of a business that operates in a busy contracting environment. She is responsible for the establishment and production of processes and procedures, liaising between staff, subcontractors, consultants, and clients.

Strider Bergman

Job Titles:
  • Project Manager
Strider is a keen problem solver and strong communicator with an eye for detail and a passion for producing results. He is a project manager with 16 years' experience in the industry, and as such is well versed in construction and geotechnical projects. He is also an experienced IRATA qualified rope access technician combining 16 years of drilling, rope access and excavator operation experience gained in New Zealand and Australia.

Tim O'Toole

Job Titles:
  • Project Manager
Tim is a project manager with a strong practical and academic grounding in the civil, mining and agricultural environment, with six years of project and contract management experience in the commercial drilling industry. He has an MSc Geology degree from Canterbury University and applied knowledge of over ten years mining and construction industry experience in challenging drilling environments New Zealand wide.

Tom Adams

Job Titles:

With 21 years of experience, Tom has a strong background in the civil construction industry. He is a builder, and in his time in the industry he gained experience in managing multiple subcontractors on projects with extremely tight time frames. Tom owned and managed a civil construction company specialising in seismic upgrades and formwork, he worked consistently on the Christchurch rebuild completing a number of complex cast in-situ concrete projects.
