Charli Hibbert

Dr. Kathleen Charli Hibbert is a social ecologist with expertise in epidemiology and public health. Her work spans a diversity of topics, including micro-activity behavior, intentional living communities, vulnerable communities, e-waste, non-chemical stressors, children's health, obesity, and older adult sexuality. Prior to joining See Change, Charli received her PhD in Social Ecology from UC Irvine, and then held a 4-year postdoctoral position at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where she worked on several projects addressing social determinants of health and their role in exposure/risk analysis. Charli also teaches quantitative analysis, advanced statistics, program evaluation, and research methods in sociology, psychology, and public health departments at multiple institutions. Charli is currently working towards achieving her personal goal to complete a week-long, 100-mile hike through the mountains in Ireland within the next 2 years.

Dr. Angela Sanguinetti

Dr. Angela Sanguinetti is an ecological behaviorist. She studies relationships between people and their environments, including benefits of spending time in nature and how we understand our interdependence with natural resources. Dr. Sanguinetti is a researcher at UC Davis, where she directs the Consumer Energy Interfaces Lab and brings her behavioral expertise to projects for the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle Research Center, Center for Water and Energy Efficiency, and Western Cooling Efficiency Center. Dr. Sanguinetti is also the Director of the Cohousing Research Network, which seeks to strengthen the rigor and impact of research establishing the personal, societal, and environmental benefits of living in collaborative neighborhoods.

Dr. Beth Karlin - CEO, Founder

Dr. Beth Karlin is a psychologist and social change strategist with a passion for applying behavioral science insights in education, sustainability, media, and health. Before starting See Change, she spent a decade working in K-12 education as a teacher, counselor, and school administrator. She also served as Research Director at the USC Norman Lear Center and founding Director of the Transformational Media Lab at UC Irvine, where she received her Ph.D. in Social Ecology with an emphasis in Design-Behavior Research. Beth has published in venues ranging from Psychological Bulletin to Peace Studies and is a sought-after speaker on Storytelling, Smart Technology, and the Social Science of Sustainability (and yes she loves alliteration). Beth is a past President of the American Psychological Association's Environmental Division, a committee member of the National Academy of Sciences Environmental Health Matters Initiative, and an instructor in the Sustainability & Behavior Change Program at UC San Diego. She has a complete inability to remember people's names at conferences but somehow still knows the lyrics to most 90s hip hop songs.

Dr. Cindy Frantz

Dr. Cindy Frantz is the Norman D Henderson Professor of Psychology at Oberlin College. She received her PhD from University of Massachusetts Amherst in social psychology, and has spent her career studying humans' relationship with the natural world with an emphasis on promoting sustainable behavior. Dr. Frantz has expertise in the use of feedback technology to encourage conservation behavior and promote systems thinking. Dr. Frantz also directs the Community Based Social Marketing Research Lab, a collaborative research program between faculty, students and staff to develop, test and promote behavior change programs that reduce carbon emissions on campus.

Dr. Irina Feygina

Dr. Irina Feygina is a social psychologist who applies behavioral science to policy and program development and evaluation in areas of energy efficiency, clean technology adoption, environmental protection, sustainability, and climate change assessment and adaptation, as well as climate communication and outreach. She also draws on facilitation and organizational behavior approaches to support climate and clean energy organizations, develop tools for environmental practitioners, and support individuals and teams amidst challenges, growth, and transitions. She has served as the Director of Behavioral Science and Assessment at Climate Central, as Fellow on the White House Social and Behavioral Sciences Team, and as a AAAS/APA Congressional Fellow in the U.S. Senate. She completed her doctorate at New York University and postdoctoral work at Rutgers University. She enjoys forests, bodies of water, and mountains, large-scale political change, well-facilitated conflict, turning her place of residence into an art project, and being in community.

Dr. Lisa Zaval

Dr. Lisa Zaval is a behavioral scientist with broad expertise in leveraging insights from the fields of behavioral economics and psychology to understand, predict and motivate behavior change. Lisa has been advising See Change since its founding. Lisa holds a PhD in Judgment & Decision-Making Psychology from Columbia University, where she currently holds an appointment as an adjunct research scientist. She completed her post-doctoral training jointly at the Center for Research on Environmental Decisions and the Center for Decision Sciences at Columbia Business School. Lisa's research has been published in leading academic journals, including Nature Climate Change, Psychological Science and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and summarized in a variety of venues, including the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. In addition to over 10 years of academic experience, she leverages the knowledge gained from years of applied behavioral science research and consulting to help guide decision-making across a range of domains (e.g., sustainability, healthcare, education and consumer finance). Outside of research, Lisa can usually be found building legos with her kiddos.

Dr. Rebecca Ford - Chief Strategy Officer

Dr. Rebecca Ford is an applied scientist with over 10 years experience of leading large research programs on energy system transformation. Becky's work sits at the intersection of technology, policy, and social sciences. By bringing together knowledge about energy system infrastructure, the policies and practices that shape it, and the way people interact with it, her work highlights opportunities for policy and industry to drive a better, fairer, and faster energy system transition to net-zero. Becky received her DPhil from the University of Oxford, where she worked in the Energy and Power Group. Since then Becky has traveled the globe leading programmes in New Zealand, the US, and the UK that leverage academic expertise to support real world policy and practice changes. When she isn't working, Becky spends her time co-hosting the Local Zero podcast, surfing the Cornish coastline, experimenting with vegan cooking, and generally trying to keep her 7-year old twins alive.
