She loved to read, watching tv, playing games and collecting music boxes. Bonnie Richardson was born in Griffin, GA and raised in Jackson. She graduated from Jackson High School and attended Marsh-Draughon Business College. Bonnie lives in Jackson with her husband Russell. Joe Westbury

Joe graduated from Griffin High School in June of 1994. Following graduation Joe studied at Gordon College in Barnesville, Georgia for 2 semesters. During this time the family experienced a death, and Joe was intrigued by the care that was provided to his family at their time of loss. He went to inquire about pursuing a career in funeral service and spoke with Mike Conner, manager of McCullough Funeral Home in Griffin, GA. After the discussion Joe started working at McCullough Funeral Home part-time, while also working at the family's nursing home in Jackson. In September of 1995 Joe started Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Decatur, Georgia. He was invited to join the honor fraternity. Joe graduated from Gupton-Jones in August of 1996. Following graduation he started his apprenticeship with McCullough Funeral Home in Griffin, while still working part-time at Westbury Medical Care Home. He received his funeral director and embalmer licenses in May of 1998. He continued to work with McCullough Funeral Home and Westbury Medical Care Home until he began employment with Haisten-Woodlawn Funeral Home, Griffin, GA in February of 2000. During this time Joe, grew his experience as a funeral director and embalmer, having met with the majority of families and embalming most of the deceased. In March of 2001, Mike Conner and Joe Westbury, with the financial backing of Rick Towns, bought the Moody Funeral in Griffin. The Moody Funeral Home had opened in 1997 and historically performed between 40-60 funerals annually. Conner-Westbury Funeral Home opened on March 23, 2001 and by the end of 2001 had performed 146 funerals. This trend increased every year. The last full year that Mike, Joe and Rick owned the funeral home, they performed 465 funerals. In March of 2012, Joe and his partners collectively sold their business to Carriage Services, Houston, TX. In April of 2002, Joe married Drew Carden Westbury. They have four daughters, Kitty, Kami, Karoline and Kaysen. They are members of Rock Springs Church in Milner, Georgia, where Joe serves on the Board of Stewards. Joe also serves on the Advisory Board for Rock Springs Christian Academy. He is a member of the Jackson Butts County Rotary Club, Butts County Leadership Class of 2014, and serves as Chairman for the Partner's for Smart Growth. Joe enjoys playing golf and riding motorcycles.

John Sherrell

John Adrian Sherrell, age 76, of Jackson, GA, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, at Westbury Medical Care Home. He was born October 9, 1936 in Pepperton, GA to the late George Deventer Sherrell and the late Mary Will Carr Sherrell. John enjoyed writing, fishing, reading and spending time with his family. He served in the US Army in the European Theater. He was a graduate of Cincinnati College of Embalming. John was a licensed minister, funeral director, embalmer, a member of the Jackson First Baptist Church, St John's Lodge F&AM 45, Gideons International, Georgia Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association. He and his wife began Sherrell Funeral Home in 1967 and continued his service until recently due to declining health. John ran the local ambulance service for many years and served as coroner for 14 years. He is preceded in death by grandson, Matt Cardell; brothers, Bobby Reynolds, Victor Sherrell, George (Butch) Sherrell, Jr., and Richard Sherrell. John is survived by his wife, Margaret Rawls Sherrell, of Jackson; sons & daughter-in-law, Jackie & Ann Rooks, of Flovilla, Dennis Rooks, of Jackson; daughters & sons-in-law, Becky & Eddie Cardell, of McDonough, Bonnie & Russell Richardson, of Jackson; 12 grandchildren; a large number of great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Dull, of Griffin, Janie Ryan, of VA; brother, Dave Sherrell, of CA; brother-in-law, Ralph Cook, of Jackson; sisters-in-law, Mary McCrackin and Eva Sherrell, both of Jackson, Betty Rawls, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Hilda Sherrell, of Muldrough, KY; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for John Sherrell were held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 23, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Jackson with Dr. Benny Tate and Rev. Daniel Peavy officiating. Mr. Charles Leslie Kelley Sr., age 70, of Jackson, Georgia passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Charles was born on Saturday, February 17, 1951, in Macon, Georgia to the late E. J. Kelley and the late Kathryn Barbee Kelley. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles L. "Chuck" Kelley Jr. Charles was a member of Rock Springs Church. He had worked as a Correctional Officer at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison. Charles was a strong supporter of Rock Springs Christian Academy. He loved old cars, reading, and was an avid University of Georgia fan. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lynn Kelley; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Scott Pressley; stepchildren, Michelle Smith, Sherri Hood, Mike and Billie Mazer, Mark Mazer; 15 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren. Mr. Donald Lee "Don" Brooks, Sr., age 76, of Jackson, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022. Don was born on Thursday, October 25, 1945, in Cedartown, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvie Lee Brooks.; stepfather, Q.A. "Gramps" Sheffield and mother, Gladys Cates Sheffield; daughter, Regina Knight; and 3 brothers. Don served in the United States Army. He enjoyed going to the mountains and eating at the Varsity. Most of all he loved spending time with his great-grandchildren. Don is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rebecca Brooks; son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Tiffany Brooks; grandchildren, Bethany Cuneio, Tim Cuneio, Stephanie Smith; great-grandchildren, Carson, Braylon, Abigail, Taylen, Brynlee, Ariella, and Haisley. Mr. William Henderson Wall Jr

Mr. William Henderson Wall Jr, age 76, of Jackson, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021. William was born on Wednesday, December 5, 1945, in Locust Grove, Georgia to the late William Henderson Wall Sr. and the late Gertrude Ford Wall. Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by his sons, Michael Horton, Wayne Horton; brother, Tom Wall, sisters, Jean Mincey, Gloria Hobbs, Nancy Fields. He served in the United States Marine Corp and later worked as a tool maker for Ford Motor Company for 30 years. William was a strong conservative that enjoyed following politics and an avid reader. He loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren. William is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Cindy Wall; children, Chad and Rebecca Wall, Melissa and Jeff Burkhalter; 8 grandchildren; sister, Pat Singley; beloved dog, Coco; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carolyn Jean Tatterson Landers, age 82, of Jackson, Georgia passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022. Carolyn was born on Sunday, January 7, 1940, in Glasgow, West Virginia to the late Lawrence Lemoin Tatterson and the late Pauline Shenefield Tatterson. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, James Albert "Jim" Landers, III; son, James Alan "Buddy" Landers; and sister, Janet Price. Carolyn was a member of Rock Springs Church where she served on the Women's Missionary Society and the children's nursery for many years. She was a longtime owner of Carolyn's Ceramics in Jackson. Carolyn is survived by her children, Lisa and Leon Couey; Laura Perdichizzi; son-in-law, Sam Perdichizzi; grandchildren, Leon and Sarah Couey, Amanda and Justin Weldon, Cameron and Kimberly Perdichizzi, Adam and Lindy Sechrist; Allie and Luke Andrews; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Waylon and Willoh Andrews, Samuel and Lillian Weldon; sister, Ruth Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Fay Tatterson; in-laws, Nancy and Aubrey Hanson, Sara Jo and Ray Young; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Karen Gail Blaido Erickson, age 82, of Jackson, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021. Karen was born on Monday, April 3, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to the late John Charles Blaido and the late Amanda Helena Halvorson Blaido. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clayton Hauglid. She was a retired Registered Nurse. Karen was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and cooking. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and history. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Jackson Branch. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Dale Erickson; children and their spouses, Denell and Tony Angelo, Donise and Doug Hall, Suzanne and Warren Puckett, Dale II and Alesha Erickson, Kenyon and Michelle Erickson; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Lionel and Ann Blaido; several nieces and nephews. He served on the Butts County Board of Commissioners from 1985-1996. In 2016 Russ was elected again to the Butts County Board of Commissioners. Russ and his wife Rhonda attend Rock Springs Church. Russ and his wife Rhonda live in Jackson and have 2 daughters and sons-in-laws Brooke and Wade Stroud and Erin and Brad Downing and 5 grandchildren Sydney,Ridge, and Sarah Ellen Stroud and Barrett and Brock Downing all of Jackson. He enjoys hunting and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Virginia was born on Tuesday, October 7, 1941, in Hawkinsville, Georgia to the late Ellis M. Etheridge and the late Mary Thompson Etheridge. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Lewis Edward Walsingham; and son, Rickey Lewis Walsingham. Virginia was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She loved camping and traveling and enjoyed arts and crafts. Virginia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Roy Bruce; grandchildren, Andrew and Sarah Walsingham, Alyssa Walsingham, Natalie and Derrick Adams; and great-grandson, Waylon Walsingham.
