George A. Day

George is a graduate of Louisiana State University's Paul M. Hebert Law Center where he was the junior graduate editor for JCLS (Journal of Civil Law Studies) and a student government representative. George was a member of the Public Interest Law Society and co-chairman of the Baton Rouge Teen Court program. He graduated with an Energy Law and Policy Certificate which is awarded to students who have exhibited substantial competence in the areas of energy law and related matters. George holds a Business Administration degree from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey. After law school George worked as a contract attorney and an associate attorney concentrating on civil litigation and various legal matters including those pertaining to automobile accidents. George has a passion for the practice of law and works hard to achieve the best results for his clients.

Clyde R. Simien is a founding partner in the law firm of Simien and Miniex since its inception in 1987. He is a graduate of Southern University Law Center where he was an Editor of the Southern University Law Review and member of the Moot Court Board where he received the Best Oral Arguer Award, and he was a member of the Best Moot Court Team. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette). After law school Clyde was a law clerk in the 16th Judicial District Court for the Honorable Richard Haik which consisted of St. Martin, St. Mary and Iberia Parishes. Clyde was an Assistant District Attorney for 21 years in the l6th Judicial District. He was the prosecutor for all juvenile matters in St. Martin Parish. Clyde is a former Assistant Adjunct Professor of Criminal Justice at the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette). He taught at the University from 1986 to 1989. He has been a member of the Louisiana Independent Public Accountants since 1986. Clyde began his private practice in 1987. He is a member of the Lafayette, Louisiana State, and American Bar Associations, the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association, the Louisiana District Attorneys Association, and the National District Attorneys Association. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, the Supreme Court of Louisiana as well as the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also licensed to practice in the State of Texas. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and has been recognized as one of the Top Trial Lawyers in America. If asked why he started his private practice, Clyde would say "We want to practice law and make a difference in the community, we want to help people." Clyde also has experience with utility cases as he has actively participated as outside counsel on specific utility related issues. The Louisiana Public Service Commission has employed his firm since 1991. Clyde has successfully represented clients in the Lafayette area including the City of Lafayette, the Lafayette Sheriff's Department, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, the Manning Menard Oil Company, the Office of Risk Management for the State of Louisiana, the Department of Revenue for the State of Louisiana and others. Additionally his firm has served as Counsel to the Lafayette Airport Commission since 2007 and he serves as an Assistant City Parish Attorney for Lafayette Parish. These cases have involved a variety of issues including commercial disputes to discrimination. Clyde's primary function in the firm is litigation. His trial experience includes over 2000 trials of varying magnitude and issues. He has extensive trial experience, especially in the area of serious personal injury matters, and has been a member of the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association since 1986. Mr. Simien's civic involvements include being a committee member on the 1996 Bishop's Charity Ball and he has been an active participant since 1994. In addition to serving in an advisory capacity on several community based committees including being on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce in Lafayette, Clyde was appointed in 2004 to serve as a Commissioner of the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District or "LSED", formerly known as "The Superdome Commission". In 2013 he served as Grand Marshall and guest speaker in the Martin Luther King Celebration in Lafayette, Louisiana. He has been a Sponsor of the celebration since its inception. He is a current member of the Unified Development Code Committee appointed by Lafayette Parish President, Joey Durel. The committees' task is to develop and provide long range planning policies for Lafayette Parish for the next 25 to 30 years. He is on the Board of Directors of 232-HELP, an agency that exists to help those in crisis return to being healthy and productive members of the community. He is an honorary member of the Dedication Team with the Kaboom Foundation of Lafayette which is providing a new playground in New Orleans 7th Ward commemorating the 10th anniversary for Hurricane Katrina. He mentors local young men in the Acadiana area, helping them stay in college and keeping them on the right track.
