SIXDEGREES.CA - Key Persons

Alec Harrison

Andrea (An-dray-ah) is our resident voice director, composer, and producer. She has fearlessly pushed herself to excel in all three vocations, as she holds a very high bar for herself and 6 Degrees. Starting at 6 shortly after finishing her masters at Western University, Andrea has committed herself to growing the studio, developing new talent, and maintaining a no bullshit meter on human resources and word clocks. Most days you will find Drea working away in her composition suite with a lukewarm Americano Misto and her bernedoodle, Tug, at her feet.

Andrea Wettstein

Andrea Wettstein is an Alberta-based AMPIA award-winning composer for commercials, television and film. Andrea is always striving to hit an emotional chord with her music. She writes with the goal of discovery - to reveal the honest emotional core of a character or scene, and strives to create an intimate embrace between each visual storyline and the music that supports it. Andrea's classical background, and her Masters degree in composition, allow her a deep understanding of the orchestra, the singing voice, and the abilities of each instrument. She is an avid vocalist and songwriter, finding the recording and production of her material as a creative force for her compositional work.

Carolyn Ruether

Dan is a director, producer, owner, mediocre golfer, entrepreneur, and father. You could say he's a modern-day renaissance man, but we'd rather you didn't. Carolyn has her roots in camp. She loves the leadership, teamwork and work ethic required to tackle whatever nature (or the latest emergency record) has in store. She loves team sports (no surprise), Friday beers, and pop country (we are working on this!). If you need someone to trust as you light your first fire, trace a set of switchbacks, come across a rogue squirrel or find the perfect tree for a bear hang, talk to Carolyn. She can also be trusted to treat every music and sound project, big or small, with the same level of care and attention to detail. That camp value works like trail magic at 6.

Dan McManus

He's been involved in a number of award-winning projects, but has yet to win just one 6 Degrees Whack-a-Mole competition.

James Allinson

Job Titles:
  • Engineer / Pronounced / Chames
James was lured from the salty shores of west England during the depths of the pandemic. Not the most alluring origin story for entering our 6 world, but James has shown he has a stiff upper lip for handling adversity and change. In between his times hunting pheasant, enjoying a nice drive on the motorway to the mountains, and brief chinwags with his fellow officemates, James has proven to be a proficient engineer and wily sound designer. He's also Italian!

John Iaquinta

Job Titles:
  • Sound Supervisor / Re - Record Mixer / Pronounced / JTI
He consistently works to find the best sound, effects, vocal EQ, and mix balance without ever settling for less than perfection. John has a great sense of humour, loves fine wines, and recently became a new dad.

Nick Wright

Nick came to us via Vancouver. He clearly misses the low lying clouds, heavy rain, and general gloomy climes of the west coast. Nick is not a dark soul, but he finds happiness in the shadows. If you ever access Nick's Spotify you'll find bands like ‘Bauhaus' and 'Skinny Puppy' in his feel good playlists. We are lucky to have Nick loping around our space, and his kindness, dry wit and deep commitment to the dark arts of sound design and mixing are second to none. In his free time Nick rescues dogs, sands floors, and reads Edgar Allen Poe (or that's how we imagine his Saturday afternoons!).

Peter Irwin

John is full of passion, care for his craft, and with over 25 years of experience, his resume includes award winning post and commercial production, as well as a collection of Emmy's. Peter Irwin has been a part of the 6 Degrees fabric for the past 5 years. Starting on the fringe, Pete methodically threaded his way into being a centrepiece in the 6 picture.

Robyn Ord

Robyn see's her life as one continuous screenplay. She picks her roles and portrays them with depth and nuance. One day she casts as the talent coordinator, the next as the company therapist and the next as manager of an intensely focused, glasses-on-the-nose office administrator. In our opinion she's pulling Tony Award winning performances on a daily basis and should bow before she departs the shop. In her free time she enjoys watching Bravo! (who doesn't) and is currently taking night classes to become a certified Charcutier.
