Anna Barbee Causey - EVP

Anna B. Causey has over 28 years of experience in the benefits field. After graduating in 1990 from the University of West Florida, Anna began her career with Principal Health Care. After reaching success as an Account Executive with Principal, Anna embarked on her own as an independent agent/broker and began her own business in 1997. In 2002, she merged her practice with Combined Insurance Services which in 2019 changed names to Torgersen Causey to more reflect the company's local ownership. As Executive Vice President, Anna is responsible for the overall benefits management of her group clients and for overseeing agency administration. Anna is a Chartered Healthcare Consultant®, a Registered Health Underwriter®, a Registered Employee Benefits Consultant® and is a Certified PPACA Professional. Anna is proud to call Pensacola home and is active in the community that she loves. She is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters; Past President of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors, Pensacola Chapter; Chair of the Board of Directors for the Health & Hope Clinic; Past Chair and Current Board Member for Capstone Adaptive Learning & Therapy Centers; and a Past Board member for the Ronald McDonald House, IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay Area, Liberty Sertoma, the YMCA of Northwest Florida, the Speech and Hearing Board, Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services of NW FL. Anna is a member of the Pensacola Area Chamber of Commerce and the Class of 2001 Leadership Pensacola. Anna and her husband, Jack, both enjoy golf and actively study God's Word, engaging others in bible study. They are members of McIlwain Presbyterian Church.

Ashley Messick

Ashley Messick joined Torgersen Causey in February 2020 and brings over 10 years of client care experience to the team. She has a profound passion for helping others and enjoys providing the best service possible to our clients. Her role as Client Service Specialist includes resolving client issues and assisting employees with their benefit needs, building client materials for presentations, and maintaining critical information within our agency's management systems. Ashley graduated from University of West Florida in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems and is currently working towards her MBA. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors with family and friends; traveling to new places; making crafts/DIY projects and playing billiards. She currently resides in Pensacola, FL with her husband and daughter; they are looking forward to building their forever home in Cantonment, FL soon.

Ben Baldwin

Ben graduated from Florida State University in 2023, where he earned his degree in Finance. Soon after, he joined Torgersen Causey, taking on his role as a Market Development Specialist. Ben brings fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to our team. He is a licensed agent with the state of Florida and is currently training to become an Account Executive for the company. Ben focuses on group insurance, helping educate employees on all things benefits. He also represents our company at community events, expanding our reach and maintaining strong relationships with our current clients. He is committed to professional growth and excited to continue his career path here at Torgersen Causey. Ben was raised in Gulf Breeze, FL and resides there today. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, going to the beach, and spending quality time with family.

Brenda Dean

Brenda Dean joined Torgersen Causey in March 2020 bringing over 20 years of employee benefits experience to the team. A Pensacola native, Brenda spent her early work life in California before moving back to Pensacola in 1991. She began her career in human resources and employee benefits in 1999. Her previous experience with a PEO allowed her to readily step into her role as our Administrative Specialist. With a natural gift for helping others, Brenda has a long history of exceptional customer service and assists our clients with claims research, enrollments, billing reconciliations and various aspects of account management. She works closely with our carrier partners to resolve client issues and is a key support to our entire team. Brenda is a member of Calvary Christian Center in Pensacola where she is on the Administrative Staff Team and is active as a choir member and church greeter. In her spare time, Brenda enjoys reading and spending time with her Mother.

Cherie Meguess

Cherie is a licensed agent with the firm and has been in the insurance industry for over 23 years. She started her insurance career at CHCS Services-Pensacola in 1999 where she became the Supervisor of Agent Licensing. Other related work experiences prior to joining Torgersen Causey in 2013 include Auto-Owners Insurance Company, WellCare, and Humana. She is the Director of Consumer Markets, specializing in individual medical insurance, earning the status of Elite in the Marketplace Circle of Champions every year since 2016. She also specializes in individual ancillary benefits, including life, dental, vision and supplemental insurance, while also consulting employers with group benefits of all types. She is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU), where she has earned both the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and the Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC) professional designations, which allow her to offer assistance on a wide range of benefit issues. Cherie is a member of the Baptist Healthcare Foundation Women's Executive Board and an active member of Pensacola Suburban West Rotary Club. Cherie is a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she sings in the choir. She has previously been a praise team worship leader, choir section leader, Bible study leader and Sunday School teacher. She has volunteered as a cheerleading coach for Upward Sports and the Gulf Coast Youth Sports Association and as a soccer coach for the YMCA-Pensacola. She has 2 grown children and 1 grandson whom she adores. She loves spending time with her family, anything beach, and traveling.

Lissa Sventek

Lissa Sventek is the Senior Account Manager for Torgersen Causey. Lissa brings over 25 years of administrative experience in Office Management, Customer Service, and Insurance Service. She has a passion for helping people and strives to make every client interaction a positive one. She assists in the development and implementation of firm administrative policies and procedures; manages and oversees administration of client concerns; she maintains customer accounts, facilitates new business implementation and handles all phases of client service. Lissa originally became a resident of Northwest Florida while in the Navy in 1990. She left the area in 1993 and upon completion of a 7-year stint overseas, she returned in 2000 and has called Pensacola home ever since. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and close friends; eating great food at the many great local culinary spots in Pensacola; watching professional sports; and enjoying the pristine beaches of the Gulf Coast.

Mike White

Mike is a resident of the Pensacola area, having attended school in Gulf Breeze. He graduated from LaGrange College with a Bachelor's in Business Administration on a basketball scholarship. Before joining Torgersen Causey, Mike worked in the Athletic Department for his alma mater coordinating operations. As an Account Executive for the firm, Mike's focus is providing consulting services for individuals and groups for benefits such as health, life, disability, dental and vision. Returning to the area for the first time since high school, Mike is excited to make this his home and to become active in community. Joining him is his wife, Brianna, and their two dogs George and Ginny.

Reid Torgersen - VP of Sales

Reid graduated from Florida State University in 2016 with degrees in Finance and Marketing and immediately began his career with Torgersen Causey as an Account Executive. He has since taken a new role as Vice President of Sales, where he oversees the agency's group and individual sales development. He also manages many of his own, personal clients' portfolios. He loves his work and is dedicated to keeping his clients satisfied. Reid is proud to call Pensacola home and is thrilled to be a part of its rapid growth. Outside his employment, he is active in the community as the Public Image Chair of The Cordova Rotary of Pensacola and as the Chair of the Board of The Children's Home Society. He also enjoys volunteering for various organizations and events such as the Big Break Golf Tournament for Pensacola State College. Reid is native to Gulf Breeze, FL and enjoys fishing, boating, golfing, playing basketball, and spending time with his wife, family, and friends. He is a die-hard Florida State Seminoles Football and Basketball fan. He is an active member of Echo Life Church of Pensacola.

Todd Torgersen - President

After graduating from Florida State University in 1981 with a degree in business, Todd began a career with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. After several successful years as an Account Executive and Marketing & Sales Director with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Todd launched Combined Insurance Services in Pensacola, Florida. In 2019 Combined Insurance Services changed names to "Torgersen Causey" to more reflect the company's local ownership. His business focus today, as President of Torgersen Causey, is client relations and organizational development. In addition to his degree at Florida State, Todd is recognized as a Certified Health Consultant, grading out in the top 10% nationally. He also completed the requirements for Syracuse University's Graduate School of Sales Management and Marketing. Todd holds membership in the Florida Association of Health Underwriters and the Florida and National Associations of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He is also a Certified PPACA Professional, completing the coursework and exams required to gain the designation. Todd is active in the community as a member of City Council for the City of Gulf Breeze, Five Flags Rotary (past President) of Pensacola and is currently on the board of ARC Gateway as past President. Torgersen Causey is a corporate member of the Chamber of Commerce in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. Todd has also participated in United Way's Day of Caring, March of Dimes and served as a cook for Loaves & Fishes. Outside of work, Todd spends time with his family, watching college sports and anything to do with the water. He is a member of Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church.
