Dr. Carolyn Hennessey

Dr. Hennessey has been an animal enthusiast all her life. She grew up riding and showing horses at a young age. She began working in the kennel of a small animal hospital when she was in high school and developed a passion for veterinary medicine that she could not shake.

Dr. Catherine Smith

Born and raised in Greensboro, NC, Dr. Catherine Smith knew from an early age that she wanted to have a career in veterinary medicine. This passion only continued to grow as she continued down the educational path toward this goal. Dr. Smith attended Caldwell Academy for high school, Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC for undergrad with a study abroad semester in Queensland, Australia and finally down to Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama where she graduated in May 2015.

Dr. J. Linwood Jernigan

Growing up in Whiteville, North Carolina, Dr. J. Linwood Jernigan's home was within walking distance of a veterinary practice. In the seventh grade, Dr. Jernigan started working there. This early exposure to the veterinary profession convinced him that the animal care field was the only choice for him!

Dr. Vicki McCall

Dr. Vicki McCall received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001, and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State in 2005. Despite living in Raleigh for years, she remains an avid Tar Heel fan. Dr. McCall is passionate about nurturing the special bond between people and their pets, and is proud to be joining the veterinarians at The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt. Her special interests include pain management and internal medicine. Dr. McCall enjoys camping and hiking with her husband Ryan, and their three dogs, Rufus, Gus, and Mozzie.
