Carmen Brinn Morton serves as Senior Vice President at The Brinn Group and provides strategic leadership and oversight of all operations, marketing and community relations activities and programming. Ms. Brinn-Morton joined the team in July of 2021, and comes to The Brinn Group from a distinguished educational background and career in education, with a Masters in early Childhood Special Education. As a graduate of Long Island University CW Post and the Bank Street Graduate School of Education, she has been servicing children and families in urban education for over 10 years. During her tenure as a NYC Department of Education Special Education Teacher, she worked closely with the school administration and elected officials to ensure that her students and families received the educational and technology resources needed to excel. She also advocated and championed efforts to support remote learning for children with IEPs (Individual Education Plans) at the height of the covid pandemic, to ensure that they would continue to thrive.
Fernando L. Brinn is President of The Brinn Group, one of the leading Marketing, Public Relations and Real Estate consulting firms in the NYC region. Helen L. Torres serves as Vice President and General Counsel for The Brinn Group. She leads the company's legal division and advises the company on a wide range of legal and business issues. With over 20 years of experience as a practicing attorney in the states of Florida and New York, she has dedicated her career to public service.
Ms. Torres began her legal career as a housing attorney for Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. (LSGMI) in September 2000, where she represented tenants in securing and maintaining their public housing and Section 8 vouchers. During her tenure at LSGMI she also handled mobile home park litigation and predatory lending cases.
At the height of the housing crisis, Helen partnered with another attorney to create Lanshe & Torres, P.A., a firm dedicated to preserving home ownership and family law. Mr. Torres has saved hundreds of client homes from foreclosure, and assisted homeowners in securing loan modifications or repayment plans through bankruptcy.
Helen has worked with and supported underserved communities by providing free workshops on a myriad of legal topics including: Home Loan Modifications, Probate & Estate Planning, and Family Law. Helen L. Torres received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Temple University in 1997 and a Juris Doctorate degree from Brooklyn Law School in 2000.
