The Way Back, Inc. is a non-profit organization which operates community based transitional residential facilities for men and women ages 18 and over who have a primary psychiatric diagnosis. Founded in 1980, we are one of the oldest mental health housing providers on Long Island and in New York State. The Agency is licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health... The primary emphasis of the program at The Way Back is to prepare residents to live independently in the community. Our program teaches residents the skills needed to successfully live outside the community residence structure. A willingness to participate in the rehabilitative goal planning process is required.
