Our expert team has experience of travelling in a vast range of destinations, including ‘off the beaten track' in the developing world. Most of us have been on our own gap years (some longer ago than others!) and have since had successful careers in the uniformed services, as school expedition leaders or youth work leaders. The ideal people to have 24/7 access to for advice when things don't go to plan... We are often asked, why the name ‘Pharos'? Well, Pharos is Ancient Greek, pronounced ‘Pha-ros', meaning ‘lighthouse'. Of course, lighthouses are designed to guide people away from harm, which is exactly what we aim to do.
