Donna M. Christensen

The Honorable. Donna M. Christensen retired from the U S House of Representatives in 2015 where she served nine terms (18 years). She is the first female physician to serve as a Member in the history of the U.S Congress. In the 111th, 112th and 113th Congress, Delegate Chris- tensen served on the Committee on Energy and Commerce. Among other subcommittee as- signments, she served on its Subcommittee on Health during healthcare reform. She also served on Committee on Homeland Security, the Committee on Natural Resources and the Committee on Small Business. Congresswoman Christensen chaired the Congressional Black Caucus' Health Braintrust for 16 years. She practiced family medicine and served in several public health administrative positions until her election to Congress in 1996. She recently estab- lished the Christensen Institute for Community Health and Empowerment. Dr. Christensen is the recipient of several honorary degrees and awards. Today she sits on several boards and serves as a public health advisor to the VI Department of Health.

Semaj Johnson

Semaj Johnson, principle of The Johnson Law Firm, is a corporate attorney who specializes in litigation defense and business development. A former partner of K.A. Rames, P.C., Johnson built his reputation on representing the interests of the smallest, local businesses to multinational Fortune 500 companies. He has launched numerous start-ups, navigated corporate expansions and defended a variety of companies in the federal and state-level courts. Attorney Johnson is a Virgin Islander, and a graduate of Good Hope Country Day School, Wesleyan University and Howard University School of Law. His training included work with the Ford Foundation Study Group, and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Johnson has sat on the Board of several Virgin Islands non-profits, including the Board of Trustees for the Virgin Island Bar Association, the Virgin Islands Humanities Counsel and the Christiansted Federal Credit Union.
