Agustin Benito Bethencourt

Agustin Benito Bethencourt Oniro Program Manager Agustín joined the Eclipse Foundation in August 2021 as Program Manager. Remoter by heart, he is based in Málaga, Spain. Agustín has been involved in different Open Source projects and organizations for +18 years. He also enjoys basketball, barbecues and travelling around the world. Follow @toscalix

Aleksandar Kurtakov

Aleksandar is part of Red Hat's Eclipse team. He is Platform SWT committer, Tools PMC member and leads the Linux Tools project. He is very interested in deeper native platform integration both as runtime experience and as distribution channel. He is also interested in growing the contributors and better aligning with modern systems.

Anne Jacko

When not in front of a monitor, Anne prefers activities that involve wearing a helmet--horseback riding, skiing, and cycling. One of her favorite books is The Chicago Manual of Style, so if you need help with the nitpicking details of writing in English, she's happy to help.

Boris Baldassari

Boris is a long time open source enthusiast and contributor. Previously a methods and tools consultant for the industry, he joined the Eclipse Foundation in 2021 to help people and organisations adopt, understand and apply open source principles and best practices to their own projects. He is also a juggler, musician, and nature lover. He is moored in Europe.

Christopher Guindon

When he's not at a computer, which is rare, Chris spends his time with his dog Winston, playing the drums, watching a Habs game or at the top of a hill snowboarding.

Dani Megert

Dani is one of the initial Eclipse committers.He led the Platform and the JDT subprojects, represented the project in the Eclipse Planning Council, and was also a a member of the Eclipse Architecture Council. He was elected by the committers to represent them in the Eclipse Foundation Board of Directors. Dani worked at OTI and IBM Research GmbH. His interests included user interface and API design, editors, software quality and performance.

Denis Roy

In the office, Denis spends his time in front of a Linux command prompt, helping manage the servers, networks and software that run the Eclipse websites. When not at work, Denis enjoys time with his family and friends.

Dr. Robert Hilbrich

Job Titles:
  • Manager for Simulation and Modeling at the German Aerospace Center
Dr. Robert Hilbrich works as a manager for simulation and modeling at the German Aerospace Center in Berlin, Germany. He is a computer scientist and started his research career in the field of developing safety-critical real-time systems at the Fraunhofer research institutes FIRST and FOKUS. Since he joined the German Aerospace Center in 2015, he is responsible for the development of the traffic simulation suite Eclipse SUMO. In 2019 Robert also founded a startup, the Consultancy for Engineers GmbH, where he is employed as managing director in addition to his role at the German Aerospace Center.

Dr. Tom Ritter

Dr. Tom Ritter has been Deputy Director of the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS since 2019. His main areas of interest are model-driven software engineering, the development of software tools, software development processes, infrastructures for tool integration and the consideration of quality throughout the entire development and life cycle of a system. Tom Ritter also participated in standardization activities and is co-author of books on components and services. He regularly provides his expertise in lectures and seminars as well as at conferences and workshops.

Ed Merks Committer

Job Titles:

Ed Merks leads the Eclipse Modeling Framework project and co-leads the Eclipse Modeling project along with Rich Gronback from Borland. He is a coauthor of the authoritative book EMF: Eclipse Modeling Framework which is nearing completion of a second edition. He is interested in all aspects of Eclipse modeling and its applications. He is well recognized for his dedication to the Eclipse community, posting literally thousands of newsgroup answers each year. He is also an active blogger. He spent 16 years at IBM, achieving the level of Senior Technical Staff Member after completing his Ph.D. at Simon Fraser Univeristy. His experience in modeling technology spans 25 years.

Eric Poirier

Eric is part of the web development team! Other than working with web stuff, his other passions are mostly constituted of hockey, video games and tv shows.

Erich Gamma

Erich was the original lead of the Eclipse Java development environment. Prior to working on Eclipse he contributed to VA/Micro Edition (part of IBM's Java solution for embedded device programming). Erich is well known for his work on Design Patterns and JUnit.

Etienne Juliot

Etienne Juliot is co-founder and vice president of Obeo, a software editor focused on Model Driven solutions. He is a senior software architect with a strong experience in IT and embedded systems architecture. He is involved in several Eclipse projects (Sirius, Acceleo, EMF Compare, SCA, UML Generators, Mylyn, ...) and is a steering committee member for PolarSys. Frederic Gurr

Frédéric Desbiens

Frédéric Desbiens joined the Eclipse Foundation in February 2019. As the IoT and Edge Computing Program Manager, his job is to help the community innovate by bringing devices and software together. Gaël Blondelle

Gesine Freund

Gorkem Ercan

Gorkem Ercan is the architect for developer tools at Red Hat. Gorkem has experience working with a diverse range of technologies ranging from building IDEs to mobile phones. He is an avid contributor and supporter of open source. He is the project lead for Eclipse Thym project, and Eclipse JDT language server and a committer on various projects including Eclipse Che, Eclipse WTP Server, Eclipse JSDT, and Eclipse Theia. Gorkem is a member of the Eclipse Architecture Council and he is one of the longest serving Eclipse commiters.

Gunnar Wagenknecht

Gunnar Wagenknecht is a software specialist at Salesforce. He also is a prolific contributor with many years of experience in the Eclipse Open Source Community where he has been awarded with the Lifetime Contribution Award. Hassan Jaber

Ivar Grimstad

Jay Arthanareeswaran

Jay is a long time committer and a lead of the Eclipse JDT subproject. In his current role, Jay is responsible for the Eclipse Compiler, especially supporting new Java Language features. In the past, he has also contributed to the Orion and Flux Projects. Jay has been an Eclipse user since its inception.

Jeff McAffer

Jeff McAffer co-led the RT Equinox project and is the Founder of Code 9. He is one of the architects of the Eclipse Platform and a co-author of The Eclipse Rich Client Platform (Addison-Wesley). Previous lives include being a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM and work in distributed/parallel OO computing (Server Smalltalk, massively parallel Smalltalk, etc) as well as expert systems, meta-level architectures and a PhD at the University of Tokyo.

Jenn Martel

John Arthorne

John has worked on the Eclipse and Equinox projects for the past decade in many different areas. He was the main developer on the resource model for many years, and designed the platform's concurrency infrastructure. In recent years he has focused on the Orion project, provisioning (p2), e4, and overall platform API quality. John has authored numerous articles and a book on Eclipse.

John Wiegand

John was a principal architect for the platform infrastructure. John played a central role in the development of IBM VA/Java, VA/Micro Edition, and Eclipse. His interests are in the areas of performance, scalability, compilers, and just about anything that's hard.

Justin Schmitz

Kenji Kazumura is Senior Professional Engineer at Fujitsu Limited in Japan. After more than five years experience of the compiler development he has been working with Java for the enterprise mission critical systems. Now he is in charge of Fujitsu middleware products such as Interstage Application Server.

Kevin Haaland

Kevin was a key contributor to the design and implementation of the Platform UI. He was previously component lead for the Platform UI, and has a long history of building user interface technology at OTI. In a past life he was the lead for the SWT team. Kevin also played a key role in the IBM VA/Java project.

Lars Vogel - CEO, Founder

Lars Vogel, vogella GmbH Lars represents the user and adopter community of Eclipse. Lars is founder and CEO of the vogella GmbH based in Hamburg, Germany. Marco Jahn

Martin Oberhuber

Martin was on the PMC representing the Community aspect of Eclipse and the e4 project. He is a Platform Core Resources and e4 committer, co-leading the e4 Resources work. Martin also serves on the DSDP PMC and as Target Management Project lead, and revitalized the Eclipse Architecture Council as its chair. His interests include programming languages, patterns and paradigms, optimizing development processes, skiing, hiking, and playing all sorts of musical instruments.

Matt Ward

Matthew Khouzam

Matthew Khouzam has been using Eclipse tools since the Callisto release and has been a committer on Eclipse projects for 10 years, with almost 5,000 reviews to his name. He is the product manager for Eclipse Theia, OpenVSX, Eclipse Trace Compass within Ericsson and co-lead for the Eclipse Trace Compass Incubator. Matthew is also co-lead of the CDT.cloud project. He is a technology enthusiast, especially in the field of performance engineering. In the copious amounts of free time he has left, he is a husband, a father, and enjoys cooking, biking and woodworking. He is also a budding doodler and has been co-developing a game in his remaining spare time. Matthew has worked in academia and industry, coordinating between large and small companies as well as university research labs. Finally, he is a great big nerd. Matthias Sohn

Tom Watson

Tom is one of the initial committers of the Equinox project and was involved in the initial migration of the Eclipse runtime to the OSGi Framework. Currently he leads the Equinox Project, represents IBM in the Eclipse Planning Council, and is also a member of the Eclipse Architecture Council. He focuses is on modularity and the OSGi Framework design and development. Tom is also a leader in the specification development process at the OSGi Alliance.

Torkild Resheim Contributing

Torkild Ulvøy Resheim is a senior software engineer and part owner of Itema, a software consultancy based in Trondheim, Norway. Torkild founded the Trondheim Eclipse User Group in 2013 and has been participating in EclipseCon Europe Program Committee for the past few years. He sits on the Eclipse Architecture Council and on the Eclipse Science PMC.

Wayne Beaton

Wayne works for the Eclipse Foundation where he fills the dual roles of Director of Open Source Projects and Evangelist. He spends his days working with the many Eclipse open source project teams, learning about Eclipse technology, and making sure that everybody knows just how cool it all really is. In 1982, he received the prestigious Chief Scouts Award from then-Governor General Edward Schreyer. In 1984 his team was selected to represent beautiful British Columbia in the Kinsmen Voyageur Relay. In his spare time, he writes down meaningless accomplishments from his youth in a lame attempt to impress the reader.

Wolfgang Gehring Mercedes

Inspired by the Inner Source movement years ago, Dr. Wolfgang Gehring turned into an ambassador for Inner and Open Source and has been working on enabling and spreading the idea within Mercedes-Benz and its IT-subsidiary Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation (until April 1st Daimler TSS). A software engineer by trade, Wolfgang's goal is to enable Mercedes-Benz to fully embrace FOSS and become a true Open Source company. He leads MBTI's FOSS Competence Group and is a member of the Mercedes-Benz FOSS Center of Competence. In his free time, Wolfgang likes to engage in conversations about soccer and is a passionate traveler and scuba diver. He calls Albert Einstein's birth city of Ulm his home in Southern Germany.
