Amanda Thomson

Job Titles:

Amanda joined the team in January 2021 and has provided a much needed addition to the back office team. Originally from Hampshire, she has 35 plus years' experience in HR within the Information Technology sector, Amanda has a passion for people and service to the community, having been involved in many charitable organisations in South Africa while living abroad. She will be supporting the staff to grow the Partnership and make a safe and healthy working environment for all the teams to work in.

Ann Jansen-East

Ann is a trained Mediator, Family Group Conference Coordinator and Conflict Resolution Coach and has also trained as a Practitioner in First Aid in Mental Health - and has worked in the field of Restorative Practice for more than 20 years. She has worked in Youth Offending Teams as a practitioner, Senior Leader and Manager. In 2015, she became Development Manager and subsequently Joint Service Manager for the Partnership's Thames Valley Restorative Justice Services (TVRJS). During her time with us she has also supported our Victims First Adult Specialist Service, managing the Berkshire team for short while.

Bron Jones

Job Titles:

Bron has watched the Partnership develop over time, having joined originally as Events and Networks Manager back in 2006 - as of April 2023 she now leads on Information Technology, IT Compliance and maintaining the Partnership's Cyber Accreditations such as CE+ and IASME Assurance. Following a Degree in German and post-graduate course in administration she pursued a career in the commercial sector for many years, in senior admin. and then in international marketing, before making the move to the charitable sector.

Chris Ward

Chris is a Tax Director at PwC, where he has been advising clients for around 15 years, and is a chartered tax adviser and accountant. Outside of work he enjoys most sports, in particular running and rugby, as well as travelling and has previously completed a half marathon in the Arctic Circle!

Colin Cross

Colin is a qualified Chartered Accountant who has over 30 years of experience of leading service delivery organisations, working with clients in the public and private sectors, both nationally and overseas. He has worked at a senior leadership level for a number of major international companies, such as IBM and Capgemini, where he was Vice President with Global responsibility for Service Management and End User Services. Since taking early retirement Colin has been appointed to the role of Non-Executive Director on the Board of the Northamptonshire Children's Trust, and also represents the Trust on the Management Board of the Northamptonshire Youth Offending Service. He is a Trustee of Community Care North Bucks, where he also volunteers for the Hospital Car Service. Prior to being appointed as a Trustee, Colin was a Volunteer Caseworker with the Victims First Emotional Support Service of Thames Valley Partnership.

Henry Allmand

Henry is the CEO of Heart of Bucks, the Buckinghamshire Community Foundation. In this role he works actively within local communities in the county, alongside philanthropists and stakeholders, to encourage local giving and engagement. Prior to this, he held management positions in local government in Bucks and trained on the National Graduate Scheme for two years. Henry has an honours degree from the University of Manchester in Criminology, and a masters' degree in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam, a postgraduate diploma in Leadership and Management, and is currently studying towards an MBA. He holds a Non-Executive Director role, has trained as a reserve with the British Army, previously held voluntary positions with local charities, and currently volunteers as an adviser for enterprise and skills in a local secondary school.

Joy Shakespeare

Joy worked in Local Government Children's Services for many years, where her senior roles included responsibility for Youth Offending Services, Leaving Care, Youth Services and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children. She worked as Head of Early Help for Buckinghamshire County Council from 2012 until May 2018 when she took the decision to take early retirement in order to explore new challenges. Since then, Joy has worked as in service design and commissioning for a number of local authorities and has also had roles in the development and delivery of training for the College of Policing and Oxfordshire County Council. She was an independent chair of Home Office Modern Slavery panels between 2019 and 2022 and is the vice chair of the Buckinghamshire Fostering Panel. Joy is professionally qualified in psychotherapy, coaching and careers guidance and offers therapeutic support to individuals and groups through her private practice.

Judith Baker

Judith has extensive experience across the CJS working with victims and offenders. She spent 30 years in Thames Valley Police, 3 years in West Berkshire Youth Offending Team, 3 years as Regional Manager for the Citizens Advice Witness Service. Judith is also a Restorative Justice practitioner and trainer. She now manages both our New Leaf offender mentoring service as well as our Family Matters programme and she as such has a combined team of 8 and an established volunteer base who support with mentoring.

Kat McLean

Kat joined the Partnership in 2019 working within service delivery to support victims of Modern day slavery, exploitation and trafficking. In April 2020 she became the Buckinghamshire Area Manager for our new adult specialist service which combines crisis support and a wider holistic approach to the needs of these victims, then in January 2022 she became the Service Manager for this service. In April 2023 Kat became the Head of Victim Services for the partnership. Kat has over 17 years of experience in working with victims of crime; before joining the partnership she worked as a specialist IDVA within the local authority and as Service Delivery Manager for Victim Support. Kat is a trained Trauma Informed Practitioner and is passionate about working with those particularly affected by Modern Day Slavery , Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence. The VFSS Service including our Restorative Justice team and Outreach project is currently our largest programme which sees Kat managing 30 staff across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire.

Michelle Nichols

Michelle is an experienced communications professional and senior leader with over 25 years' of experience working in both the public and private sector. For the last 10 years of her employment, she worked as Head of Communications for Network Rail and prior to that she headed up the communications function at Thames Valley Police, leading on strategic communications, crisis communications and media management. Michelle sat as part of the Chief Constables management team advising the Chief and senior officers on the force response to critical incidents, issues impacting public confidence and major incidents. In 2018, Michelle decided to set up her own business, Purple Pitch Communications and now works with a portfolio of clients including law enforcement, travel and tourism, neurodiversity service providers and cyber security. As well as volunteering as a marketing trustee for the charity, Michelle is also a mentor for the Women Leaders UK charity based in Milton Keynes.

Naomi Karslake

Naomi worked at Notting Hill Housing Trust, a Charitable Housing Association for many years covering a range of areas, front line housing management, new project development and partnership working with specialist agencies. In the latter role in particular she developed skills around governance and management of smaller voluntary organisations. Then after a stint at the Aylesbury Youth Offending Team, she joined Oxfordshire Advocacy, providing Human rights advocacy to vulnerable people across Oxfordshire, as well as managing the volunteer community advocacy programme provided by volunteers. Her voluntary roles have included Chair of the Board of Arncott Enterprises that ran the Visitors' Centre at Bullingdon Prison, until the contract was passed on to PACT, and also Chair of Pulse, a Social enterprise running community health and housing projects in London and Bristol. During the Covid-19 pandemic she has been involved local initiatives to deliver food, prescriptions etc to local villages.

Neil Owen - Secretary

Neil joined the team in 2018 bringing with him over 25 years' experience in finance and management. He combines these essential skills and a breadth of knowledge, managing the Partnership's accounting processes, payroll, administration, facilities and governance for the growing staff team. Neil works closely with our Treasurer.

Nikki Ross - CEO

Nikki, a retired senior police officer, joined as CEO in September 2019. The obvious links to Criminal Justice mean that she has been able to bring a new direction and vigour to the Partnership and aims to expand and diversify the services offered to those who find themselves negatively impacted by crime. Nikki has experience in a number of our programme areas and is keen in particular to expand to early intervention work to prevent harm, whilst recognising the need to continue to help in the aftermath of crime. Having spent 35 years in public service she specifically joined the charity to be able to continue to help and empower vulnerable people at a time of personal crisis.

Robyn Ramsell

  • Operations Manager and Victims First Emotional Support Service Manager
As the Operations Manager at Thames Valley Partnership, Robyn plays a critical role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the front-line services for the Charity. Robyn joined the Partnership in June 2021 working as a caseworker to support victims of crime in West Berkshire. In April 2022 Robyn became the Programme Manager for the Victims First Emotional Support Service . She oversees a team of 7 staff and 16 volunteers who offer emotional support to victims of crime across the Thames Valley as well as the frontline management team for Victim, Offender and digital services. Robyn was a Police Officer serving in both Met Police and Thames Valley Police, she also has experience working within the social housing sector. She is a qualified Trauma Coach and Mental Health First aider. She has a passion for person-centred trauma-informed working to support recovery.

Rupert Coles

Rupert is a strategy consultant at PA Consulting and a member of the leadership team within the Public Services sector, focussing within Justice and Home Affairs but also working with international organisations such as the United Nations, Interpol and Europol. He has over 25 years' experience advising clients in central government and law enforcement on national policing programmes and now specialises in driving a whole system approach to tackling child sexual abuse and exploitation. Prior to consulting, Rupert led ICT Operations at Thames Valley Police for almost 9 years and has a background in technology and people centred change. Rupert is an age grade rugby coach and a lapsed runner, having previously completed 4 marathons in a day, and running 7 marathons in 7 days across the Sahara.
