Ahmet qualified from the Royal London Hospital Dental School in Whitechapel in 1996 and has worked as a general practitioner ever since.
He grew up in London and moved to East Sussex joining Durban Dental Centre in 2008.
Ahmet is highly experienced in cosmetic dentistry as well as facial aesthetic treatments. He has a post graduate certificate in aesthetic dentistry awarded from Kings College London in 2014. In 2005 Ahmet carried out Implant training in Wimpole Street London.
He is an experienced provider of Inman aligner orthodontics and recently awarded platinum provider status for smilelign invisible orthodontic braces.
Ashley grew up in Kent and graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Physiology. He graduated with one of only three awards given to his cohort and met the conditions to study dentistry at King's College London (Guy's King's and St Thomas). He graduated from King's in 2014 and after graduation won the prestigious ‘John McLean' award from the British Dental Association for a multi-disciplinary case. He also went on to win the case of the year award for central Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery.
Ashley achieved an MSc in Primary Dental Care (General practice) and is currently concluding a Masters in Clinical Dentistry (MClinDent) degree developing a special interest in root canal in order to offer his patients a high level of competency in this skill. He gained the membership diploma from The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (MFDS) in 2016 along with being shortlisted as a finalist as Young Dentist of the Year in 2016 at both the Private Dentistry and Dentistry Awards and in 2017 Ashley was selected for the ‘Fast tract 4' award by ‘Dentistry' magazine.
Ashley is particularly interested in functional aesthetics (the harmony between form and function) and has completed his core studies with The Dawson Academy from America - one of the world's top teaching institutes for advanced restorative dentistry. Ashley has also achieved a Post Graduate certificate in Implant dentistry to enable him to offer comprehensive care to his patients.
Ashley has carried out research with The National Migraine Centre (UK) looking at the relationship between teeth grinding (parafunction) and migraine (oral facial pain) and has lectured at the British Dental Association headquarters in London. Ashley also has a research interest in the latest root canal instruments. Ashley is very caring and will take time to explain all aspects of treatment that may be needed he is very gentle and has a great rapport with children.
Jacob grew up in Northern Ireland and graduated from Queen's University Belfast in 2020. He came to England to continue his professional career.
Jacob is a general dentist with a keen interest in Dental Implantology and is currently undertaking an Implantology course in Leeds. He has spent time in a community placement which has made him particularly good with nervous patients, young and not-so-young!
In his spare time Jacob likes to go home to visit family and friends, and loves to travel. He plays rugby for East Grinstead RFC and enjoys being the chief taste tester for his partner's baking business.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Dundee in 2005 with Merit certificates in Clinical Dentistry and Prosthodontics.
After completing her vocational training in Dundee, she moved to Edinburgh to pursue a special interest in Oral Surgery, gaining extra training & experience in the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery unit at St John's Hospital for 2 years. During this time she also gained her MFDS diploma at the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.
For the following 7 years, Rebecca worked in General Dental Practice in Glasgow before moving South to live in East Sussex. She took a year off after having her twins before returning to General Practice where she enjoys working as part of a team in the local community.
When she's not helping her patients with their oral health, Rebecca is also a busy photographer running Bexphoto.
In her spare time, Rebecca is a foodie who enjoys baking and reading as well as adventures around the world, from skydiving to scuba diving, but her main adventure in life these days is raising her beautiful twins.
Ruth grew up in London and graduated from Barts and The Royal London Dental Institute in 2016 with a Bachelors in Dental Surgery. She was one of three students chosen to undertake part of her training at the prestigious Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, which was named the best dental training institute at the time.
Since then, Ruth has gone on to work in general dental practice moving to Kent to be closer to the outdoors. She provides a spectrum of dental services including dental restorations, crowns, bridges, root canal treatments, dentures, paediatric and preventative dental care. She is a keen believer in lifelong learning and is constantly updating and developing her skills through numerous courses such as the yearlong advanced operative aesthetic and restorative dentistry course run by renowned multi-specialist Richard Porter.
During her time off, you can find Ruth and her partner, Mike, taking on hiking and cycling trails in the south downs and, on occasions, in the Alps. She enjoys Pilates and spending time with family and friends.
Emma has been working in Dentistry for 13 years and spent 5 of those years working at Durban Dental Centre. Emma enjoys all aspects of Dentistry and learning new skills.
Heather has been part of the reception team at Durban Dental Centre since August 2017. Heather really enjoys interacting with the patients. Being a nervous patient herself, Heather likes to put patients at ease when they come to the practice.
I see Ashley at Durban Dental and he is superb. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. His knowledge and clinical skills seem top notch. He offers practical and sound advice, without pushing unnecessary treatments. He gives confidence and is calm and patient. I find the whole team welcoming and very professional. Highly recommended.
Karen has been working as a Dental Nurse since 2001, joining the Durban team in 2019. She enjoys all aspects of General Dentistry and can be found working alongside Ahmet 5 days a week.
Outside of work Karen is a Wife and Mum to two teenage boys.
Kirsty has been a Dental Nurse since 1988 and qualified in 1991. After having a break to look after her three children, Kirsty returned to Dentistry and is a very motivated and caring member of the team.
Kirsty is keen to take additional skills in Dental Nursing and is currently taking a course in Dental Radiography.
Outside of work, Kirsty enjoys walking, zumba and spending time with family & friends.
Marie joined Durban Dental Centre in March 2008 and is a long standing full time member of the team. Marie is the Head receptionist and enjoys interacting with patients & colleagues on a daily basis. Marie is responsible for the smooth running of front of house.
Nicola started her dental career as a Dental Receptionist and trained as a qualified Dental Nurse. Nicola has worked in management for over 10 years in Health and Social Care and Dentistry, with her last position managing an orthodontic practice.
In her spare time Nicola enjoys spending time with family, eating out, theatre and classical concerts.
