Andrew Urbanek

Andrew grew up in London , after 30 years of practicing as a solicitor both as a partner in private practice and an in house legal counsel, he retired to live in Batheaston in 2019. He has held various charitable roles including a board member of an educational trust, and has worked for the Prince's Trust. Andrew was made a Justice of the Peace in 2016 and a Presiding Justice in 2022. Andrew has a keen interest in food, wine and entertaining and was instrumental in setting up the "Pop up Pub" in the village hall in early 2022.

Catherine McCarthy - Founder

Catherine is a founder member of Batheaston Forward, the Residents' Association and has been a Parish Councillor since 2015 and a Trustee of BNVH since 2017. Catherine is a proud Liverpudlian and has lived in Northend for 33 years: was a Civil Servant for 43 years and after retirement became a Sports Therapist including massage and rehabilitation of any injuries. Catherine was a very keen member of Minerva Choir for several years - singing with the choir some of the most glorious choral works in wonderful Churches around Bath with many concerts held in Bath Abbey.

George Riley - Chairman

Born in London, George spent most of his career with his wife Jane as an antiques dealer. He moved to Bath in 1998 and a year later opened Dolphin House as a B&B which they still run very successfully. George has been involved in village life for years including road biking group and the running group ,completing the Bath Half Marathon many times followed by the Paris Marathon. As a Parish Councillor, he was heavily involved with the improvements to the pavement in front of the shops, development of the Secret Garden, and the riverside area.

Julia James

Julia moved to Batheaston in 2021 on retiring after a long management career across the public sector and is the newest trustee.

Mike Townley

Mike has for many years been a central figure in Batheaston serving as the Parish Council Clerk for 23 years. Having recently retired from that role, he kindly offered his services as our minute taker and document archivist and with effect from July 2021, has offered to take on the position of Secretary.

Pam Burcombe

Pam is Batheaston born and bred, lived in the village all her life, attended Batheaston School and is now a Parish Councillor. Her involvement in the Village is extensive. She is Chairman of the Batheaston Youth Club, a Member of St John the Baptist with St. Catherine Church PCC and Standing Committee. Belongs to the Batheaston Neighbourhood Group as a Committee member and driver. She was Booking Secretary and Caretaker for the old Church Hall for many years and saw the original Hall being built.

Peter Fear

Peter has lived locally all his life and moved with his wife to Batheaston in 1986. Since becoming a Parish Councillor (2011 - 2015) he has taken a great interest in the local community and in 2015, set up the Friends of Bathampton Meadows Riverside, a very successful voluntary group which has spent many hours maintaining the well used riverside space. Peter joined as a Trustee for BNVH at the start of 2020 and has known all of the Trustee Team for many years.

Remembering Brin Johnson

Tragically Brin died suddenly on July 21st 2021 and our thoughts go out to his family, especially his wife Mary. It was Brin's drive and determination that kept the whole concept of a new village hall alive and we can take some comfort in the knowledge that Brin was able to see the new hall almost completed. Brin had been a Batheaston resident since 1982 and he had been on the board of trustees for BNVH since 2014. We are grateful for his valuable contribution to the project and we will truly miss him.

Ruth Foreman - Treasurer

Ruth has been living in Batheaston now for 4 years but knows the area well having previously lived in Bathampton Ruth is also Treasurer for the Friends of Bathampton Meadows Riverside - the group that maintains the riverbank areas alongside the path between the Batheaston bridge and the gate onto Mill Lane. Ruth is a Chartered Accountant by profession and worked in practice for most of that and is a trustee of 3 other local charities.She has 3 grown up 'children' and 6 grandchildren and also volunteers with St John Ambulance.
