AVCOA strives to promote a long-lasting, connected community that consistently engages and advocates for its own needs. Using grassroots organizing principles, we implement programs that improve our social fabric, connect individuals with resources and opportunities, build community by giving back, and empower others to engage in the electoral process. Our work focuses primarily in historically disenfranchised communities across the Antelope Valley... AVCOA's Community Captains talk directly to their neighbors on a regular basis so that we are always using direct input from community members to coordinate service... AVCOA helps coordinate service projects for community members to participate in across the AV as a way to build the social fabric and help our neighbors in need.
