Andrew Butler

Andrew has over 22 years' experience in the insurance and financial services industry. He has developed a successful business in meeting the needs of business owners, key executives, and retirees. His primary focus is helping others to properly insure what they have, invest what they can in the fulfillment of their God given passions. In his pursuit for greater industry knowledge and expertise, Andrew has achieved the professional designations of CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) and CRM (Charter Risk Manager). Andrew is happily married to his high school sweetheart Stacy and they are the proud parents of three children. He has been able to participate in many mission activities, both locally and internationally. He finds great benefit in meeting the needs of others, whether physically or spiritually. Andrew loves what he does and looks forward to the challenges of each new day.

Ashley Frederick

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Ashley started with Texas American Insurers in the Fall of 2005. She and her husband, George, live in Kentucky with their two sons, Connor and Landon. They spend much of their time listening to and singing Southern Gospel music, playing golf and watching UL basketball, of course! Ashley enjoys being able to be close to family and still being a part of the Texas American team, supporting her commercial clients with their insurance needs.

Colby Shannon - President

Colby has been with the agency full time since 1996 when he opened our branch office in Lubbock, TX. He grew up in and around the agency as a 3rd generation agent starting with his grandfather Thomas who opened the agency in 1950 and working with his father Mike through high school. After graduating from Lamar High School in Arlington, Colby attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing. After graduating from Texas Tech and getting married, Colby decided to begin a new agency in Lubbock which expanded Texas American Insurers operations out into West Texas. He grew and managed this agency until 2001 when he and his young family decided it was time to move back closer to home. Colby returned to the home office where he shifted his focus to commercial lines while still managing the Lubbock operation.

Erica Rocha

Erica is originally from Oregon, but moved to Texas in 1998. She's been a part of our organization, working in our Lubbock office, since January 2006. Her favorite part of the job is being able to work with an amazing group of people and having the opportunity to provide excellent customer service to all of our Personal Lines clients, current and future. Erica has two great children, son Makyiah and daughter Makenna. They especially enjoy family beach vacations, but most of her days are spent at the ballparks cheering on her kids! Erica's customers can feel confident in contacting her with any questions or concerns they may have. She welcomes the opportunity to help however she can.

Esther Martinez

Esther began her career with Texas American Insurers in February 2001, as the Customer Service Representative and Office Manager of our Lubbock office. Originally from Lubbock, Esther moved to the Fort Worth area in 2014, to work in the capacity of Account Manager for both the commercial and personal lines of the industry. Esther enjoys meeting new people and developing a business relationship that enables them to have the best coverage at the best price. Esther has a daughter, Stephanie and son, Brandon, and a granddaughter, Serenity who brings so much joy to her life. Esther enjoys football (her son Brandon plays college ball), travel and good movies, but mostly spending time with her family at every opportunity.

Kim Turner

Kim started with Texas American Insurers in November of 2003, in the areas of administration, human resources, and payroll. She enjoys the variety that the position offers and watching the company grow with such a great group of employees who enjoy working together. Working in the Life & Health Department, Kim has the opportunity to get to know our clients and their families as they work with our agents to meet their changing needs. She also works closely with our carriers accounting departments and vendors, gaining a unique perspective from inside the agency. Kim grew up in the Houston area, attended Texas A & M University, and moved to the Arlington area in 1997, when she married Greg. They have two boys, Cole and Brady, so there are many days spent practicing, playing, and watching baseball.

Mike Shannon - CEO

Mike has worked with Texas American Insurers since 1975, always working closely with sales and administration for our clients. He grew up in Fort Worth through high school, and attended Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. Mike moved to Houston and attended the University of Houston Law School for one year. He then joined the US Air Force and spent two years in Laredo, and one year in Vietnam. After the military, Mike lived in Houston for three years working as an Accountant and Financial Analyst in the real estate development industry. He then moved back to Arlington, Texas and began his career in the insurance brokerage business. Mike has two sons, Ben and Colby, a great daughter-in-law April (wife of Colby), and two wonderful grandchildren, Ryan Grace and Jarrett Michael. He enjoys golf, travel, golf, landscaping, and of course golf. Mike shares that he has always enjoyed the problem solving aspects that are required to be an insurance counselor for our clients. It is, and always has been, a pleasure to have the opportunity to work for the financial security that people need in this complex world.

Paola Hernandez

Paola became a part of Texas American Insurers in March 2012, as our front desk assistant. She currently works in the Commercial Lines department and looks forward to working together with her team on different tasks so that our agency works more efficiently and effectively serving the needs of our clients. Paola is originally from California, but moved to Texas at age 3. She is very family oriented and enjoys spending time with her parents, brother and sisters, and especially her two young nephews and niece. Paola currently attends UTA as a full-time student.

Stephani Hevalow

Stephani has been in the insurance industry since 2001, and came to the Texas American Insurers team in 2006, as a Commercial Lines Assistant. Stephani is married and they have two grown sons, a daughter in college and two sweet grandbabies. Stephani has a heart for rescue animals and enjoys time with her pets as well.

Wes Shannon

Wes has a long career in the insurance industry, and came to Texas American Insurers in 2006, as his agency merged with us. One of his favorite parts of the job is meeting people from all walks of life and being able to help them. He and his wife, Marcia, have two grown sons, who live out-of-state, and daughter in college. Wes spends most of his time providing financial planning and investment advisory services to individual, businesses, and charitable organizations. When not hard at work, he and his family enjoys outdoor activities, cooking, travel, live music, and theater. He also volunteers for their church and has served on the city's Historic Preservation Advisory Board.
