Hello, and welcome to High School Finance! This is the blog where we examine all of the personal finance topics that we should have learned in high school but never did!... Throughout college and in the years thereafter, I always had the feeling that high school hadn't necessarily prepared me for the things I really needed to know, like what exactly is a mortgage? Should I rent an apartment or buy a house? Can I really afford a new car? I want to invest, but where exactly should I put my money? In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, is my money actually better off stuffed under my mattress? (Spoiler alert: it isn't) So, in my free time, I researched personal finance topics and read all of the articles I could find, covering all of the topics mentioned above and more. I'm going to attempt to convey what I've learned so far to you-the reader- in the least confusing way possible.
