IGALIA - Key Persons

Adrián Pérez

I learned about Igalia from some friends who were working at the company. I joined the Igalia team in June 2008. I like to say: "I am thrilled to be here: that was sooner than I would ever expect!" Being a self-taught GNU/Linux user and C programmer was the main reason which made me study computer science: I discovered that it was possible to gain control over the electron beams flowing inside computers.

Alberto García

Job Titles:
  • Founding Members
One of the founding members of Igalia, Alberto loves computing since he got his first ZX Spectrum in the early nineties. He discovered GNU/Linux at university and immediately became interested in the free software philosophy. Besides computers he also likes travelling, cinema and swimming at the beach, but his greatest passion is music: he has hundreds of records and loves going to concerts.

Alice Boxhall

Job Titles:
  • Web Platform Engineer, Working at Igalia since November 2022.
I'm interested in web standards and developer tools, especially where we can find ways to help make it easier for developers to make accessible websites.

Alicia Boya

Since her first contact with a computer, Alicia had been always fascinated by these seemingly magical machines with endless possibilities. In an attempt to satisfy her curiosity, she learned how to program and has since studied every related topic she could get her hands on. Her love for open source software eventually led her meet Igalia where she now works hacking on web engines.

Andrés Gómez

Having a background experience in system administration, analysis, programming, project management, art design, etc., Andrés is know as "the Renaissance guy" at Igalia, as you can rely on him to help you with any problem you may have. However, some of his partners call him "the sleeping man" (you do not want to know why). Lately, he has been deeply involved in GTK/GNOME technologies and likes to spend his spare time making some art work, which includes some logos used in local GNOME conferences, playing basketball, listening to music, improving his English by reading novels and watching TV series, and traveling abroad as much as he can afford.

Antonio Gomes

I am passionate about technology, the Open Web, and football (the one played with feet).

Antía Puentes

Antía loves her job, her family, and walking in the nature with her friends. She also enjoys traveling, attending rock concerts, and going to the beach.

Brenna Brown

Job Titles:
  • Project Management
Here at Igalia I have the wonderful opportunity to help keep things moving (Project Management).

Changwoo Min

Christopher Michael

  • Open Source Developer, Graphics Engineer, Joined Igalia in 2022.
I am a software developer and long time FOSS advocate with over 25 years of open source development experience. After installing my first Linux distribution in 1996, I have been on a life long journey of learning everything I can about Linux and enjoy sharing what I learn with others. When I am not writing software, I enjoy other activities such as martial arts, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and cooking.

Claudio Saavedra

Job Titles:
  • Software Engineer, Igalian since 2008. Helsinki, Finland
I am a contributor to the WebKit project, where I have worked in various areas, from the networking layer up to the UI of Epiphany, the GNOME browser, and everything in between. For a very long time I was an active contributor to GNOME, where I was the maintainer for several projects throughout the years, like the GNOME Image Viewer, Epiphany, and libsoup, the HTTP network library. When I am not working I am most likely spending time with my family and/or playing chess, practicing ashtanga yoga, or playing guitar.

José Dapena

José, who holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of A Coruña and is one of the founding members of Igalia. These days he is a Chromium web engine developer, mainly targeting TV and automotive products. In the past, he has worked on Qt, GTK, Tinymail, and GNOME. José enjoys reading, sightseeing, cinema, and especially spending time with his beloved family.

José María Casanova
