Margaret A. Keavney

Margaret A. Keavney, Esq., is a Member of the firm Keavney and Streger. Margaret has been involved in EMS since 1981 and has practiced law since 1993 She focuses her practice on the needs of healthcare providers and agencies, specifically for the EMS industry. Her practice includes healthcare regulatory compliance, reimbursement and payment issues, contract and RFP support, employment issues, provider licensure and credentialing, organizational governance, and support of civil and criminal litigation. She is also a NAAC Certified Ambulance Compliance Officer. Prior to leaving for law school in 1989, Ms. Keavney worked as a paramedic at several New Jersey hospitals, and volunteered as an EMT on Englishtown-Manalapan First Aid Squad, starting out as a cadet. Margaret has also worked as an EMT providing non-emergency transports and event standbys. Margaret obtained her Juris Doctorate and Master's Degree in Health Administration (Health Systems Management) from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She has represented healthcare entities, providers, and health plans for more than 25 years. Margaret served for six years as the legal member of the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services Panel of Commissioners, evaluating applicants and approving accreditation of agencies. Whether as a teaching assistant in graduate school health law classes, an instructor in basic EMT classes, or lecturing at EMS and legal conferences, Margaret enjoys teaching and leading discussions on the science and law of medicine, health care, and leadership. Locally, Margaret is a longtime member of the Board of Directors for the Medical Transportation Association of New Jersey, advocating for the interests of all licensed ambulance and Mobility Assistance Vehicles providers in the state.

Zina M. Pozner

Zina M. Pozner, Esq., is Of Counsel to the firm Keavney & Streger. With more than twenty-five years' experience in both the practice of business law and government affairs, Zina's unique perspective and knowledge enables her to focus her practice on the needs of businesses of all sizes. Her ability to connect and work with both business and political leaders is demonstrated by her proven track record of providing not just legal but strategic and operational leadership to her clients. She is adept at advising business leaders on controlling costs and managing risk while remaining sensitive to the financial and sales goals that drive her clients. Whether shepherding complex transactions to completion or creating strategic alliances with organizational leaders to effectively align and support key business initiatives, her clients are always able to rely upon her to help them achieve their goals. Zina's practice includes advising clients in corporate, transactional, regulatory, risk management, intellectual property, employment and political/governmental matters, as well as acting as an outside Human Resources Officer. She assists her clients in the drafting and negotiation of contracts, providing advice on employment law matters, such as the language of offer letters and separation agreements. She also routinely advises clients regarding protection of their intellectual property, through both contract negotiation and copyright/trademark protection. In addition to her many legal talents, Zina's service to her clients is truly global, providing counsel on issues including organizational governance, risk management and crisis management. She is also adept at handling public relations issues businesses face. Zina's government experience began with working for New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman in 2001, and she went on to serve as Chief of Staff to multiple New Jersey legislators. Her time in government included tenure as Counsel in the New Jersey General Assembly Minority Office. More recently, Zina became General Counsel for a large data and analytics company with offices in New Jersey, Georgia, Florida and Texas. Zina holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management and a minor in Political Science from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey and is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
