Susan and Mark are passionate about providing opportunities for youth through enrichment activities and scholarships. Since 1984, Mark has been engaged in ventures related to biotechnology and founded Biotechnology Value Fund in 1992. As a clinical social worker for 30 years, Susan provided parenting workshops and family counseling services to families in San Francisco and Marin. She currently serves on the board of the West Marin Fund, the leadership council of Blue Sky Funders Forum and as an advisory council member of the National Park Foundation... Initially investing time and resources with local youth-serving organizations, Mark and Susan have expanded beyond the Bay Area to national and international grant-making. Along with their dedicated team, Mark has created the Unorthodox Philanthropy (UP) program, and Susan oversees Youth Opportunity Scholarships (YOS) and the Environmental Stewardship Fund
