LET IT FLY - Key Persons
It started for David at Let It Fly Events 19 years ago! It was his first job and he found it through a referral from a relative. Little did he know, he had stumbled into a very successful and fulfilling career!
David is quite the task master. His days are busy managing the event crew and an inventory that grows daily, staying on top of a non-stop event schedule and leading installations that continue to amaze our clients! David has been aboard to help execute hundreds of events, including going into his 9th year with his favorite event, the historical Cattle Baron's Ball benefiting the American Cancer Society.
He loves the fact that there are no two events that are alike and he's definitely on top of his game "happy and ready to go!" When David does have spare time you can bet he's being a proud Dad spending time with his two sons.
Job Titles:
- Owner
- Partner at Let It Fly Events
Ellen has been working in the event industry since high school back in Saline, Michigan. Her background began in catering, but was always called to decorate the event as well.
In 1988, after graduating from the University of Arkansas, Payettville with a degree in Marketing, she became part of the Astrodome team with Harry M. Steve Services. In 1998, HMS was purchased by ARAMARK, where Ellen developed her planning, management and logistical skills that lead her from being the Astrohall Banquet Manager to the George R. Brown Conventions Assistant General Manager. ARAMARK's large corporation expanded her knowledge in national events, such as Republican National Convention, World Energy Congress, the Economic Summit and Houston Grand Prix. Each event helped expand her skills as well as increase her love for décor.
Ellen was able to finally develop her love for décor, when she purchased Let It Fly Events in 2004. As the owner and actively taking on new clients, Let It Fly Events, flourished and expanded.
In 2006, when Ellen added Monte Carlo Plus to the family; her husband, Red Ramsey, joined her to help manage the two businesses that became three, after she purchased Lone Star Exhibits in 2008, as well as 50-full time employees.
Traci started in the hospitality and specialty event industry in 1989 while attending University of Houston. After cultivating her knowledge of food and wine in the restaurant industry as General Manager and Banquet Director for several upscale restaurants, Traci transitioned to off premise catering. Traci served as Director of Sales and Marketing of two premier catering companies in Houston. Her desire to become more involved with the initial concept and overall production of events moved Traci to a position as an Event Producer with a National Firm.
In 2004, Traci launched her own business, Bash! Special Events, which specialized in designing, planning and executing elaborate social events for both local and national clients. Let It Fly Events and Ellen Ramsey were a long-time favorite vendor to help bring ideas to life for many of Traci's clients and in 2018, when Ellen acquired the inventory of another high-end decorator, it was the perfect time for Traci to join the team as Director of Sales and Special Events for Let It Fly Events. Having worked together for over 20 years, the partnership seemed like a natural progression and has proven to be a successful pairing in creating many more memorable events.
In her downtime, Traci enjoys spending time with her husband Silas, who is in the wine business, her daughter Kelsea, a junior at Texas State University and taking walks with Bella, her Blue Lacy, along the beaches of Galveston.
