Maxwells DIY has been serving the public for almost 90 years. Founded in 1932 by Jack Maxwell, a cabinet maker, who opened a small shop in Durham City. Expansion resulted in a move to Sunderland in 1946, where he rebuilt bomb-damaged premises in Vine Place.
