NASHVILLE BREWING

The Nashville Brewery began operating in 1859; opening its doors to a blossoming city. Located just outside the city center on High Street (now 6th Avenue), the hand-crafted local beer quickly satisfied the thirst of the hard-working citizens... Scott Mertie, beer aficionado, brought the Nashville Brewing Company back to life... The Mertie family commissioned two more historical markers relating to Nashville's brewing history. The new markers commemorate the Nashville Porter and Ale Brewery and the Brewery at Mill Creek, both founded in 1815.
