Barry is a chartered physiotherapist and has a Masters in Business and Entrepreneurship. Barry has clinical healthcare experience and has also significantly contributed to projects for the WHO in the area of Healthcare expenditure and analysis. Barry has led a number of Procela research projects and reporting in the last three years and has run his own successful business in healthcare.

BRIAN ELLIOTT - CEO

Brian is a leading figure in global public health, a senior biopharma industry leader and successful biotech entrepreneur. As co-founder of a successful HIV/Aids therapeutics company, Brian has long championed the right of individuals around the world to access essential and quality medicines, and has been at the forefront of the battle against HIV/Aids since the mid 1990s. Following 10 years service with the Irish Government Industrial Development Authority in Ireland, France and Lesotho, Brian entered the pharmaceutical industry where he held senior international positions with companies such as Norton Healthcare and Janssen Pharmaceuticals. He was recruited by Tibotec-Virco, a Belgian biotech company as Senior Vice President, Corporate Alliances and Business Development and established Tibotec Virco, Ireland where he was also the CEO, and jointly led the sale of the company to Johnson & Johnson in 2002 (2001). He founded Axios International Consultants and undertook many global health projects for organizations such as UNAIDS, the Danish government, BMS, Abbott, Gilead and Pfizer. Axios has now completed healthcare projects in over 100 countries. Brian later founded Procela Consultants, and has acted for dozens of biotech and specialty pharma companies in senior management and advisory capacities. Brian currently sits on the board of a number of biotech companies, and provides his expertise to governments, global intergovernmental organizations, multinational corporations, and fast growing healthcare companies around the world.

COLIN EDWARDS

With over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, most recently as General Manager and Head of Medical Affairs for Boehringer Ingelheim in Ireland, Colin brings a depth of clinical and medical experience to Procela's clients. Colin has personally designed, directed and led successful multinational clinical trials across the EU. Colin holds a PhD in Biochemistry from University of London and a Bsc of Biochemistry from University College Dublin. He currently serves as an advisor to companies in the lifesciences industry.

DR. FRANK HEEMSKERK

After a Bio-medical research background of 15 years at Uni Utrecht (NL), National Institutes of Health (USA) and Uni Pasteur (FR), he has almost 20 years experience in the private sector, starting as Director Research Coordination & Funding for Tibotec-Virco until its acquisition by J&J. He was President of EARMA (the European network of R & I managers in academic and industrial European organizations) and cofounded ProTon Europe (now the largest European association of University Technology Transfer offices). He serves regularly as Expert Evaluator to the European Commission, has been board member of several start-ups, has founded RIMS (BE) and ARC Innoventures (India).

DR. ROGER FRECHETTE

As a leading figure in the New England life sciences community, Roger has been building, leading and mentoring biotech companies for almost three decades. Roger was previously US East Coast Ambassador for Medicon Valley Alliance, and Co-Founder of Frontiera Therapeutics. As an early sponsor for the North Shore InnoVentures biotech incubator, Roger served as a mentor and advisor to the Incubator management team. Previously, he was Co-Founder of MaxThera, an antibacterial drug discovery company, sold in 2010 to Biota Holdings Limited. Prior to starting MaxThera, Dr. Frechette led multidisciplinary drug discovery teams and chemistry departments at companies such as Paratek Pharmaceuticals and RiboGene, and also managed international strategic partnerships. He began his career as a medicinal chemist at the R.W. Johnson Pharmaceutical Research Institute. In his spare time, he serves on steering committees for a number well-regarded Boston area conferences and associations. Roger was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Yale University, earned his PhD in Organic Chemistry from Wesleyan University and his BA in Chemistry from College of the Holy Cross.

GAVIN CLARK

Gavin has more than 30 years experience in the industry including commercial positions at Janssen, Bayer, Novartis and Glaxo Wellcome, where he closed a number of significant deals. He was responsible for business development at Tibotec until the acquisition by J&J in 2002. Since 2002, Gavin has provided strategic business development support to biotech companies, as well as held a number of strategic leadership and advisory positions in the industry.

KEVIN ELLIOTT

With over a decade spent advising US companies on the challenges and opportunities associated with internationalization, Kevin has advised a number of North American biopharma and medical device companies on issues associated with IP planning, and operational and strategic planning for growth and development in Europe. Kevin is a former Council Member on international trade at Gerson Lehrman Group, the leading network of global experts, and has provided his expertise to a number of top educational institutions including Yale University. Leading the West Coast operations of Procela, Kevin's clients in the pharma industry have ranged from several of the top 10 players, to a number of specialty pharma as well as clinical stage and startup biotech ventures. With previous experience in management consulting, the public sector and at global institutions such as the UN, Kevin has a Bachelor in Business Studies from Trinity College Dublin, and a Msc in International Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School.
