Mrs. Johnson, who lives in Amelia County, has been a SEC member since 2006. She joined the Cooperative board in 2016. Mrs. Johnson is a member and secretary of the Amelia County Electoral Board, member of the Amelia Democratic Committee, member and treasurer of the Russell Grove Association and an active member at Liberty Baptist Church in Amelia, where she is chair of the Trustee Ministry, church treasurer, and member of the Women's Ministry and Ushers' Ministries. She is also a charter member of the Pi Rho Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. in Chesterfield.

Chuck Friedl represents District 3 members on the Southside Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. He has served as the board's treasurer since 2017. Mr. Friedl, who lives in Dinwiddie County, has been a SEC member since 1977. He joined the Cooperative board in 2008. "I believe one should share their knowledge, skills and experience with individuals and organizations within their community to help make it a better place in which to live and work. By serving on the SEC Board of Directors, I am able to share ideas and influence decisions that will provide high quality, reliable electric service to its members at a competitive cost. This service is essential to its members as they seek to maintain and/or improve their quality of life," Mr. Friedl says. Mr. Friedl retired in 2003 after a lengthy career in education. He served as a teacher, principal and director of vocational education in Louisa County before spending 27 years as principal of the Rowanty Technical Center in Prince George County. He also worked as an adjunct instructor of marketing and statistics at Fort Lee. Mr. Friedl specialized in corn and soybean production while farming in Iowa and Virginia for several years. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from the University of Iowa in 1968 and Master of Science in management from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1971. He has also completed all of the coursework for a doctorate in industrial education from Iowa State University and finished the course requirements for a Virginia Department of Education license in school administration and as a school superintendent through the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech. Mr. Friedl is a Credentialed Cooperative Director and has received other certificates for his work on the SEC board and in board leadership. Mr. Friedl has served on the Dinwiddie County Board of Zoning Appeals and Dinwiddie County School Board. He is a member of the Ocran United Methodist Church Administrative Board and United Methodist Men, Sutherland Ruritan Club and the Southside Opportunity Fund Board of Directors. He is a former Dixie Youth baseball coach in Dinwiddie County. He and wife Marsha, a former teacher, have a daughter, Stacey, and a son, Christopher. Mr. Friedl's interests include antique cars and farm equipment, building design and construction, and traveling.

Mr. Pettis, who lives in Nottoway County, has been a SEC member since 1996. He joined the Cooperative board in 2017. "I was interested in serving on the SEC Board of Directors because serving in this capacity allows me to give back to the members and all of the wonderful people throughout District 2," Mr. Pettis says. Mr. Pettis has worked for Lockheed Martin Corporation Rotary and Mission Systems since 2015 as a systems analyst and then systems administrator. He also continues to be the systems administrator for the Crewe Medical Center, a position he has held since 2011. He previously worked for Nottoway County Public Schools as a systems administrator. He earned a Bachelor of Science in office systems management from James Madison University in 1992 and a Master of Education from Virginia State University in 2008. Mr. Pettis is a Credentialed Cooperative Director. Since 2016, Mr. Pettis has served on the Nottoway County School Board. He and wife Sherry, the data coordinator for Amelia County Public Schools, have one son, Clive Jr. Mr. Pettis is an avid golfer.

Dr. Earl C. Currin Jr. represents District 2 members on the Southside Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. He has served as vice chairman since 2008. Dr. Currin, who lives in Lunenburg County, has been a SEC member since 1971. He joined the Cooperative board in 1986. Dr. Currin represents SEC on the Old Dominion Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, where he has served as chairman of the Audit Committee and Nominating Committee. He's currently on the Executive Committee. "I had worked for Southside Virginia Community College for approximately 15 years and had worked with leaders in the 10 counties served by the college. When I learned that SEC had a board vacancy in my district in 1986, I talked to several SEC longtime member-consumers about running for the vacancy. I was encouraged to do so. I attended a Nominating Committee meeting at Lunenburg Court House and was one of three individuals nominated. I viewed the board position as another valuable community activity and felt that my experience and educational background could be an asset to SEC. It has been a new and evolving challenge that I feel very comfortable with. I consider it a privilege to serve our member-consumers," Dr. Currin says. Dr. Currin is retired from Southside Virginia Community College after a 37-year career. He served as an instructor of accounting and economics, and assistant professor and division chairman before spending the last 27 years as professor provost of the college's John H. Daniel Campus. He and his family have owned and operated a cow/calf enterprise since 1970. Dr. Currin received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in agricultural economics and his doctorate in educational administration, all from Virginia Tech. He served in the Virginia Army National Guard's 29 th Infantry Division in Christiansburg from 1965-71 before being honorably discharged as a sergeant E-S. He has been a Credentialed Cooperative Director since 1998 and has received several certificates for his work as a director and in board leadership. He has earned 43 continuing education credits since 1986 and currently has a Gold certification. During his tenure at Southside Virginia Community College, Dr. Currin represented the college on the Crewe-Burkeville Chamber of Commerce and the Victoria Chamber of Commerce, including one year as chairman. He is the senior adult Bible teacher, deacon, elder and trustee at Victoria Christian Church and has also served on the Vocational Advisory Committee at Central High School. He previously served 28 years on the Benchmark Community Bank Board of Directors, including being the board chairman and chairman of numerous committees; represented Lunenburg County on the Piedmont Planning Commission, including terms as vice chairman and chairman; and coached Dixie Youth baseball. He and wife Lucy (Cookie), a retired teacher, have three daughters, Kristin, Lucy and Maurene; and one son, Earl III. Dr. and Mrs. Currin have 10 grandchildren. Dr. Currin's interests include reading, walking, hunting and fishing.

Dr. Frank W. Bacon represents District 2 members on the Southside Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. He has served as the board chairman for the past 12 years. Dr. Bacon, who lives in Lunenburg County, has been a SEC member since 1980. He joined the Cooperative board in 1984. "I consider it an honor and a privilege to be part of an organization that provides reliable electric service at the lowest possible cost to Southside Virginians. Likewise, I am excited about SEC's leadership role in making a positive impact on the communities we serve. Examples include setting scoreboards for local school sporting events, changing lights on tall poles at ballfields, the establishment of the Southside Opportunity Fund to provide money and award scholarships for children of our Cooperative members and the creation of the lineman training school that provides job opportunities for our local youth here at home. It is a pleasure to serve an organization like SEC that truly places service to members as the guiding priority for every decision made and every dollar spent," Dr. Bacon says. Dr. Bacon is a professor of finance at Longwood University, a post he has held since 1990, after previously teaching finance and business classes at Virginia Commonwealth University and Southside Virginia Community College. In addition to his work at Longwood, Dr. Bacon is a longtime tobacco, cattle and grain farmer in Lunenburg County, and owns and manages Bacon's Bird Preserve. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business/accounting from the University of Richmond in 1972, a Master of Science in finance from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1974 and his doctorate in finance from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1990. Dr. Bacon rose to the rank of second lieutenant in the United States Army Corps of Engineers, serving from 1970-77. Dr. Bacon has been a Credentialed Cooperative Director since 2003 and has received several certificates for his work as a director and in board leadership. He is vice chairman of the Lunenburg County Board of Supervisors and has served in local government since 1990. He is a member and past chairman of the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives Board of Directors, and previously served on the Virginia Retirement System Board of Directors. Dr. Bacon is a member, Sunday school teacher and chairman of the Board of Trustees at Antioch Methodist Church. He also chairs the Antioch Cemetery Association Board of Trustees and Antioch Parsonage Board of Trustees. He and wife Dana, who owns and manages Corner Creations by Dana and Troy's Jeweler, have three sons, Frank Jr., Samuel and Christopher; and two daughters, Sally and Camille. They have five grandchildren-Wells, Haskins, Preston, Ruthie and Tenlee. Dr. Bacon's interests include gardening, quail hunting and training English setters.

Frank Rennie is general counsel to the Southside Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. Mr. Rennie, who lives in Powhatan County, has been a SEC member since 2014. He has been general counsel since 2015. "I consider it an honor to serve Southside Electric and all of its members as general counsel. I am keenly aware of the responsibility to our board and our members," Mr. Rennie says. Mr. Rennie has been an attorney with CowanGates in Chesterfield since 1983. Since 2009, he has served as the county attorney for Lunenburg County. He is qualified and licensed to practice law in Virginia and before the United States Supreme Court. He received a Bachelor of Science in international relations from the United States Naval Academy in 1976 and his law degree from the University of Richmond in 1983. He completed the Powhatan Leadership Institute in 2015. Mr. Rennie served on active duty in the United States Navy from 1976-81 and in the reserves from 1981-2011. He served in the Navy as a rear admiral from 2002-2011. Mr. Rennie is a member of the Electric Cooperative Bar Association and the bar associations in Chesterfield and Powhatan counties. He is chairman of the Virginia War Memorial Foundation, vice chairman of the Fork Union Military Academy Board of Trustees and past chairman of the Central Virginia Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a member of West End Assembly of God in Richmond. He and wife Priscilla, a retired law firm administrator, have two daughters, Elizabeth and Catherine; and two sons, Sam and Anthony. Mr. Rennie enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling and college football.

Paul S. Bennett represents District 1 members on the Southside Electric Cooperative Board of Directors. He has served as the board secretary since 2014. Mr. Bennett, who lives in Campbell County, has been a SEC member since 1984. He joined the Cooperative board in 1993. "I saw this as an opportunity to serve my local community and fellow citizens by working to ensure that Southside Virginia has a safe, reliable and economical source of electricity," Mr. Bennett says. Mr. Bennett has been a partner in Knoll Crest Farm Inc., a family-owned beef seed stock operation that markets genetics across the United States and internationally, since 1983. The farm is located in Red House. He earned a Bachelor of Science in animal science from Virginia Tech in 1983. Mr. Bennett is a Credentialed Cooperative Director and serves on the VMDAEC Governmental Affairs Committee. Mr. Bennett served on advisory councils for the Randolph-Henry High School FFA and the Virginia Tech Animal Science Department. He is a deacon at Union Hill Baptist Church and has served as president of the National Beef Improvement Federation, Virginia Cattlemen's Association and Virginia Beef Cattle Improvement Association. He is on the boards of the National Beef Cattle Evaluation Consortium and Virginia Angus Association. He and wife Tracy have a son, Scott, and a daughter, Sarah.

Mrs. Saunders is an active member at Calvary Baptist Church in Concord, where she is a Youth Council Member and teaches Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

Mr. White, who lives in Charlotte County, has been a SEC member since 1995. He joined the Cooperative board in 2012. "I wanted to be a voice for my community and members with an organization that plays a huge role in our day-to-day life, and also challenge myself to learn more about what goes on around us. I wanted to help educate members on what a cooperative is and how it greatly benefits the community we live in," Mr. Mr. White is employed by Virginia Farm Bureau as an insurance advisor. He has been with the company 28 years. He also owns and operates a beef cattle farm. He earned a Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics from Virginia Tech in 1989. He was a brother in the national agriculture fraternity, Alpha Gamma Rho, while at Virginia Tech.
