Jeffrey W. Lemons - Founder, VP

Jeffrey Lemons is the Co-Founder of Southern Energy LLC, and has been the Vice-President of Southern Energy LLC since its inception in 2010. Mr. Lemons has extensive experience in oil and gas valuations, acquisitions, and operations, and has been working in the oil and gas sector for companies launched by his father and grandfather since 2008, making it three generations in the industry. The family owned companies are Wy-Vel Corporation, formed in 1976, and Redstone Operating, Inc., formed in 1989. Originally from Pampa, Texas, in the Texas Panhandle, Mr. Lemons can be found enjoying time with his wife and kids outside of work. ​Mr. Lemons is an Accountant who attended the University of North Texas.

Kenneth W. Lemons

Kenneth Lemons serves as senior advisor to Southern Energy, and is involved in guiding Southern Energy's investment strategy and asset acquisitions. Mr. Lemons is the Co-Founder and President of Wy-Vel Corporation and Redstone Operating Inc., and has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. Currently, he leads the day-to-day business operations and management of Wy-Vel Corp., and he's focused on helping Southern Energy expand its investments in royalty interests and non-operated working interests in domestic oil and gas wells. Ken is the second generation of the Lemons family to work in the industry and he has extensive experience in oil and gas operations, in addition to his expertise in asset valuations and acquisitions. Prior to forming Wy-Vel Corp. with his father Wyatt Lemons, Ken worked for Leo Oppenheim and Company in the industrial revenue bond business and for Texas Bank and Trust in the bond department in Dallas, Texas.

Rajani (Raj) C. Shah

Rajani (Raj) C. Shah serves as a senior advisor to Southern Energy, and has been an active contributor to Southern Energy since its founding in 2010. Mr. Shah was formerly a business executive at IBM, where he successfully developed and pursued strategic outsourcing opportunities for the procurement division. Known for his insight and business acumen, Mr. Shah has been vital in guiding Southern Energy's rapid growth and early success. Trained as a Material Science Engineer, Mr. Shah completed his Masters from Brooklyn Polytechnic (now New York University) in 1976. In his almost 30 year career at IBM, he has had extensive experience leading projects in Manufacturing, Research & Development in microelectronics packaging and semiconductor research. In 1992, Mr. Shah joined SEMATECH, an internationally renowned consortium for the semiconductor industry, as an IBM representative. In this capacity, Mr. Shah provided key management and technical leadership by establishing several new programs. Mr. Shah is involved in several philanthropic and professional organizations supporting the local community, and has represented IBM on the board of directors for the South Central Minority business council, which supports minority owned businesses in Texas. ​

Rupesh R. Shah - Founder, President

Rupesh Shah is the Co-Founder of Southern Energy LLC, and has been the President of Southern Energy LLC since its inception in 2010. Rupesh has successfully launched several funds with a focus on assets in Texas and Oklahoma, and is known for his strategic and analytical approach to business operations. He is personally involved in various aspects of the business from raising capital and investment allocation, to management of acquired oil and gas wells. A visibly active member of the community, Mr. Shah serves on a number of philanthropic boards including the Sugar Free Athletic Foundation, which benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). As part of his longstanding commitment to furthering education in underprivileged neighborhoods, Mr. Shah has also organized and lead charity events like Project Come Together (PCT), an event that provides local elementary kids the opportunity to interact with college students and visit the University of Texas. Trained as a Chemical Engineer and an Economist, Mr. Shah graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.
