Bryce K. Hinchman

Bryce Hinchman is a transactional attorney at Sharp, Sherman & Engle, LLC who specializes in real property, water law, conservation easements, commercial transactions, business formation, and various other fields in the legal profession. Bryce has been licensed to practice law in Colorado since 2015. He graduated cum laude from Syracuse University in 2008 with a double major in Political Science and Communications. After a brief stint in Utah, Bryce attended the University of Oregon School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor in 2014. He was a Senior Editor for the Journal of Environmental Law and Litigation during law school. Prior to his legal career, Bryce worked in the nonprofit land conservation sector at the Yampa Valley Land Trust and Colorado Cattlemen's Agricultural Land Trust, helping to permanently protect thousands of acres across Northwest Colorado. He then worked as an Associate Attorney at Keller Law with a focus on real property before joining Sharp, Sherman & Engle in 2021. Bryce is a dependable, detail-oriented, and approachable attorney who enjoys working closely with clients to solve problems and help them achieve their goals. He shares a love for the outdoors with his wife and colleague, Elizabeth Hope Hinchman. When he is not practicing law, Bryce spends much of his free time skiing, hiking, and mountain biking.

Gary S. Engle

Mr. Engle received his law degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1976 and practiced law in Phoenix, Arizona, from 1976 until 1998. Mr. Engle relocated to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 1996. Mr. Engle has served as President of the Routt County Bar Association and has twice been nominated to fill judicial openings in the 14th Judicial District. He is married to Susan M. Engle and has three grown children.

Melinda H. Sherman

Melinda Sherman received her law degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1992, was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1992 and the Colorado bar in 1993. Melinda has practiced law in Steamboat Springs for more than 31 years, focusing in the areas of real property, business, banking, special district, zoning, municipal, homeowner associations, estate planning, and water law. Her practice involves representing local clients as well as clients nationwide. She worked as Assistant City Attorney for the City of Steamboat Springs from 1993 to 1998. Melinda actively supports the Steamboat Springs community and dedicates her time to many community service organizations. She served as past Commissioner on the City of Steamboat Springs Parks and Recreation Commission and a past board member on the Board of Directors of the Tread of Pioneers Museum, Impact 100 Steering Committee, and currently is a board member on The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Foundation. She actively participates currently as a volunteer to the Admissions Committee for the University of Vermont, supports local arts by providing Pro Bono legal services to Elevation Dance Studio in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and supports local sports by acting as the liaison to the Booster Club for the Steamboat Springs High School Alpine Ski Team. Melinda is a member of the Routt County, Northwest Colorado, the Colorado, and the Illinois State Bar Associations.

Thomas R. Sharp

Tom Sharp received his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Denver in 1969, and has practiced law in Steamboat Springs for more than 48 years, focusing on real property, business, banking, special district law, estate planning, and water law. He has served as past President of the Routt County Bar Association, as a past Vice-President of the Colorado Bar Association, and as a past Chairman of the Water Section of the CBA. He was a director for 20 years, and past Chairman, of the Colorado Water Resources and Power Development Authority. He has been a director for 41 years of the Upper Yampa Water Conservancy District, and has served as both Vice-chairman and Chairman of such District. He served a 3-year term as a member of the Colorado Water Conservation Board. He served as a director of the Colorado River Water Conservation District from 2001 until 2014, including a 2-year term as President of the District. Tom was elected three times to the Re-2 School Board in Routt County. He has been a director of the Yampa Valley Community Foundation since 2013. He served as an active director of Yampa Valley Bank from 2000 to 2015, and is currently an emeritus director of such Bank. Prior to 2000, Tom served as a director of the United Bank of Steamboat Springs, Intrawest Bank of Steamboat Springs, and as a community director of Norwest Bank of Steamboat Springs. Tom was elected as a Life Fellow of both the Colorado Bar Foundation and the American Bar Foundation. He is married to Sandy Sharp, and has four grown children.
