John M. Surgant, Jr., Senior Vice President/Investments, has over 40 years' tenure in the investment industry. Starting as a securities analyst covering various industries and sectors for 4 ½ years, he became registered in 1981 and came into direct sales in 1984. In addition to his strong analytic background in equities (stocks), he has also developed considerable knowledge and a value-added niche in the fixed income (bond) sector over many years. As a leader, he is a guide and mentor for Stephanie and J.T. and guides investment structure, portfolio strategy, and wealth planning strategies for Surgant Financial Group.

Stephanie Taylor Schulz

Stephanie Taylor Schulz, Financial Advisor Associate, has worked in the investment industry since 2004. A Lindenwood University graduate (Bachelor of Arts, Business Administration - International Business, 2007), she handled varied aspects of sales and operations, including integration of new branch offices, in her more than three years of tenure in the Stifel Client Services Department at the firm's corporate headquarters. Since coming to our branch office in 2011, she has worked with John on comprehensive wealth planning, including the product and sales areas of our practice. John T. (J.T.) Surgant, Client Relationship Manager, joined us in 2017 after 2 ½ years in service and internal sales with Wells Fargo Bank in South Dakota. Prior to that, he was an intern at Stifel in the Frontenac office. A University of Sioux Falls graduate (Bachelor of Arts, Business Administration, 2017), he brings to the team both his banking industry background and mentoring experience, as well as the organizational skills and discipline he developed as a NCAA Division II football player, leading the offensive line for the USF Cougars. Along with John and Stephanie, J.T. is well versed in the various aspects of the financial services industry.
