Arpan Thanawala

Arpan Thanawala, FIA, FIAI has more than 30 years' worth of experience in the actuarial domain. He started his career at William M. Mercer in London in 1989. He qualified as a pension actuary in 1994 and thereafter gained invaluable actuarial and investment management experience in the South-East Asian Markets with stints at BZW Investment Management, Hong Kong and Watson Wyatt, Singapore. He joined Thanawala Consultancy Services in 1996 and has been the driving force behind the firm's growth since then. With a strong base of technical actuarial expertise and knowledge of the accounting standards, he has constantly pushed the envelope and taken on varied assignments over the years in various countries. His ability to logically break-down the rationale behind codifications in accounting standards and guidance notes has enabled him to address the issues faced by the clients and earn respect from the audit community at large. He continues to focus on understanding the client's needs and aligns the services of the firm to remain relevant and add value to the services the firm provides to its clients.

Harshit Agarwal

Harshit Agarwal, FIA, FIAI has qualified with specializations in the "Employee Benefits" and "General Insurance" domains of the actuarial profession. He graduated from the University of Kent in 2014 and started his career at the offshore offices of Deloitte Consulting US Pvt. Ltd. He also gained valuable experience at HDFC ERGO General Insurance Pvt. Ltd. before joining Thanawala Consultancy Services in 2019.

Mr. Rusi K. Daruwalla

Mr. Daruwalla graduated in Commerce from Sydenham College, Mumbai in 1943. After graduation, he joined the New India Assurance Company Limited and by sheer hard-work and perseverance rose to become the Manager of New India Assurance Company Limited in 1961. Mr. Daruwalla became a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, England in 1958. When the general insurance business was nationalized in 1973, he was assigned to General Insurance Corporation (GIC), as the Managing Director. He went on the become the Chairman of GIC in 1979 and retired in 1981. On retirement from GIC, he joined Thanawala Consultancy Services on a full time basis as a Partner and continued his association with the firm till 2001. Mr. Daruwalla also served on the Managing Committee of Actuarial Society of India for many years in the 1980s and served as its President between 1982 and 1984.
