Ben Mathews - CEO, Founder

Prior to founding Mathews Lighting Group, Ben Mathews worked in his family's business, Lucifer Lighting, for seven years in various capacities, from Director of Supply Chain and Production to Vice President of Engineering and New Product Development. His products won numerous awards - including a German Design Award in 2017- and have been specified in projects ranging from McDonald's to the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Mr. Mathews earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Skidmore College, double majoring in Economics and History. He is a native of San Antonio, Texas.

Cullen Holt

Job Titles:
  • Outside Sales Manager
Prior to joining Mathews Lighting Group, Cullen Holt was the Project Quotations Lead at Bell & McCoy Lighting and Controls. During his time there, he assisted in product specification employee training, and spearheaded the Lighting Projects Quotation Division in the South Texas region. Previously, Mr. Holt worked with Lone Star Lighting where he gained invaluable industry and market knowledge from Lone Star Lighting's founders, Skeet and Stacie Gray.

Jordana Mathews

Prior to joining Mathews Lighting Group, Mrs. Mathews was the Director of Economic Development for Bexar County. While at Bexar County, she negotiated complex economic development incentive packages with Fortune 500 Corporations, including Oracle, GM Financial, and USAA, and also managed the Bexar County HUD, HOME, and CDBG programs. Previously, Mrs. Mathews worked for General Motors in their Government Relations and Public Policy Department in Washington, DC and the 2009 Texas State Legislative Session, and completed a fellowship at Public Strategies. She has also interned for United States Senator Jay Rockefeller in 2007, and the United Nations for the Mission of Qatar in 2005.

Josh Martinez

Josh Martinez, a 2012 graduate of UTSA with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and a focus in Public Relations, embarked on a unique journey following his academic pursuits. After completing his education, Josh decided to follow his culinary passion, which led him to immerse himself in the vibrant restaurant scene of San Antonio. He honed his culinary skills at various renowned establishments, including Sushi Zushi and Tre. At Sushi Zushi, Josh's dedication and hard work shone brightly as he started as a line cook and gradually ascended the ranks to become the Kitchen Manager. His time in the high-pressure environment of the kitchen taught him invaluable skills in leadership, organization, and meticulous attention to detail. With a desire for new challenges and a strong determination to excel, Josh made a strategic transition from the culinary world to the logistics domain. He now serves as our Warehouse Manager
