Ryan Brown - Founder

Ryan Brown is an award-winning cinematographer, director, and video marketing entrepreneur based in Brooklyn New York. Ryan cut his teeth producing short-form branded content for outlets such as BET & MTV Networks, VH1, FUSE Media and New York Magazine--- eventually founding Wayland Street Films in 2013. Nearly a year after the company's launch, Ryan partnered with his alma mater to create the Wayland Street Films Scholarship for the Arts. The scholarship was developed to target graduates from Michigan's urban school districts and provide financial assistance to students who demonstrate an interest in pursuing careers in art, media or communications. In 2017, Ryan was selected to participate in the Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directing Program, after successfully co-writing, directing, and producing a comedic short film entitled The Rough Part. The film was accepted into ten different film festivals across the country and enjoyed a chorus of rave reviews along the way. Most recently, Ryan was selected to participate as a Fellow in the prestigious Disney ABC Television Directing Program. Launched in 2001, the Disney ABC program is one of the longest-running programs of its kind --- offering advanced professional development and direct access to executives and producing directors on hit series.
