Andrew Mumford

Andrew Mumford is a Chartered and European Engineer, Fellow of the Institute of Engineers in Scotland, Member of the Institution of Materials, Minerals and Mining. He served a professional apprenticeship in Scotts' Shipbuilding & Engineering Company Ltd as a metallurgist. His experience includes naval and merchant shipbuilding and repair, steel research, leading an aeronautical quality assurance team, supervising offshore oil and gas platforms and other construction industries, and consultancy to HMG in marine, metals and aerospace international trade development operations. Trustee since 2015 and Chair of the Ship Technical Committee."

Captain Ron Bailey

Job Titles:
  • Master
Captain Ron Bailey is a Master Mariner and has over thirty years of Port experience. He now acts as a "Designated Person" for three Council Ports, one Trust Port and one Private berth operator and is an Assessor for the United Kingdom Harbour Masters' Association ‘Harbour Master Certificate of Competence'. Trustee since 2012.

David Denholm

David Denholm, served for 16 years in the Army Black Watch before joining the Denholm Group as an IT Corporate Communications Manager. Former Rear Commodore for the Clyde Cruising Club and past Event Chairman for Scottish Series. Trustee since 2015. David Paterson trained as a draughtsman then worked in the construction of large sea-going bulk carriers, mainly at Lithgow's Yard in Port Glasgow. Then area manager for Community Education with Strathclyde Regional Council, then Glasgow Life as a policy officer from 2003-8. Trustee since 1999.

David Westmore

David Westmore, Chair of the Trust, is an experienced naval architect and marine engineer and is Chief Executive of the Lobnitz Marine Group of companies involved in various national and international ship and port projects. A graduate of Newcastle University, David is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, past President of the Institution of Engineers and Shipbuilders in Scotland, Fellow of the Institution of Engineers in Scotland, Deacon of the Incorporation of Hammermen of Glasgow, and a Trustee of the Trades House of Glasgow. Trustee since 2019 and a Member of the Ship Committee.

Don Cleaver

Don Cleaver, a former chartered engineer and facilities manager in the NHS who has volunteered with the trust since 2018. Trustee since 2022.

Elizabeth Allen

Job Titles:
  • Vice - Chair of the Trust
Elizabeth Allen, Vice-Chair of the Trust, has 12 years of experience at sea on tall ships, holds a Merchant Seaman's Discharge Book, has worked on Glenlee in various capacities since 1999, and has carried out extensive research on the ship and crew. She serves on the Trust Ship Technical Committee and the Board of Trustees. Trustee since 2013

Fiona Greer

Fiona Greer FRSA formerly spent 8 years working for the Tall Ship from 2007-2015. Fiona is a museum professional with expertise in curation, funding, learning, interpretation, and events. Held roles at the Scottish Maritime Museum, Ocean Youth Trust Scotland, and Glasgow Canal. Trustee since 2021

Kelvin Harbour

Kelvin Harbour is operated by the Clyde Maritime Centre on behalf of Glasgow City Council hosting the Paisley Sea Cadets and Glasgow Coastal Rowing Club. A RYA powerboat training centre Seaforce also operates from Kelvin Harbour, alongside Galgael traditional celtic crafts.

Lyndsey Clark

Job Titles:

Lyndsey Clark is a museum and heritage interpretation consultant. She has a background in science engagement and has worked for a range of national museums and heritage organisations, smaller independent museums and communities. Trustee since 2022.

Meirion Thomas

Job Titles:
  • Account Director With Arcadis
Meirion Thomas is currently an account director with Arcadis with significant experience in business development and strategy operating in the rail and power sectors. Meiron is also a marine engineer and member of the Royal Navy Sailing Association. Trustee since 2021

Sandy Taggart

Sandy Taggart former Chartered Accountant and was formerly Hon Secretary for the Clyde Cruising Club and one of the original finders of the hulk of the Galatea and aided in the return and restoration of the ship as Glenlee. Trustee since 2006.
