David Anderson

Job Titles:
  • Senior Patient Advisor
David Anderson, our Senior Patient Advisor, will talk with you about your hair loss concerns and explain the basic principles of hair restoration. David has also undergone successful hair transplant surgery himself so he is perfectly positioned to answer your questions and provide you with sympathetic but realistic advice. If you wish to proceed you can then arrange to meet Dr Edward Ball in person at our clinic in Hampshire, a short trip from Southampton. He will talk to you about your medical history and your hopes and expectations from a hair transplant, and carry out a professional examination of your scalp. He will then advise on a bespoke course of action tailored to your particular needs. The Maitland Clinic are very pleased to be working with David Anderson as their Senior Patient Advisor. David joined The Maitland Clinic after a 10 year association as a patient first and then patient advisor with internationally renowned hair restoration surgeons Hasson & Wong. His journey in hair goes back over 27 years. David first started noticing his hair loss at the tender age of 21. Having tried a variety of treatments to keep his hair for two years he had his first hair transplant in the UK aged 23 in 1996. With techniques much less refined and surgery sizes smaller back then David had to undergo two further small procedures in the following years. With medication such as Propecia not available in the UK at the time, David went on to lose most of his native hair. "I was very self conscious of my hairline and how unnatural it looked. Back in the 1990s, hair transplants were very different that what can be achieved now. I didn't stabilise my hair loss with medication as it was not available and watched my native hair fall out revealing my unnatural transplanted hairline."
