Angela Whitehead

Angela joined OXPIP in 2022. Angela is an experienced BACP accredited psychodynamic counsellor and has worked as a counsellor in the NHS for over 20 years. She has experience as a mentor working with university students struggling with their mental health and as a counsellor for an Employee Assistance Programme offering assessment, risk management and onward referral.

Anne Burns

Anne has worked with OXPIP since the year 2000, firstly as a clinician and latterly as a trustee and is passionate about the work of parent-infant psychotherapy. She also has a small private psychotherapy practice and is married with two grown daughters.

Becky Wylde

Becky is a senior child and adolescent psychotherapist and parent infant psychotherapist and supervisor. She was the clinical lead for NorPIP. Before this she worked for many years in CAMHS, specialising in work with adopted children and children in the looked after system. She teaches the infant observation seminar for WIMP (Jungian training) and has taught the young child observation seminar for the Birmingham Trust for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (BTPP) where she trained. Becky runs an independent practice from Kenilworth and Leamington. She works with children, young people, parents and parents with infants where there are emotional difficulties, mental health problems and difficulties in relationships within families. She works with families with post-adoptive attachment difficulties and developmental trauma. She also offers supervision and consultation to professionals and professional teams.

Catherine O'Keefe

Catherine O'Keefe trained as a Parent-Infant therapist with OXPIP in 2013 and has been working with them since then. Catherine originally trained as an art therapist and has had a career spanning over 20 years working with different client groups across the life-span both within the NHS and in the voluntary sector. She has extensive experience of working with adults with mental health problems. More recent years have been spent focused on children and adolescents. At OXPIP, part of Catherine's work has been to provide both group and individual parent-infant psychotherapy for military families. Catherine is an accredited Video Interaction Guidance practitioner and is registered with the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT), The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a full member of APPCIOS.

Dee Galliano

Dee trained with OXPIP as a Parent-Infant Therapist in 2015, having previously worked for many years in the NHS and General Practice as a Psychodynamic Counsellor and before leaving to raise her family. On her return to the workplace, and after qualifying with OXPIP, she worked as a Parent-Infant Therapist with NorPIP, in Northampton, before training as a Jungian Adult Psychotherapist with the Society of Analytical Psychology. She has a private psychotherapy practice in Northampton and joined OXPIP in February 2022 as a Senior Parent-Infant Psychotherapist.

Dr Jessica Gibson

Jessica is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 20 years' experience. She is passionate about maternal mental health, especially during pregnancy and the early postnatal period. Jessica has worked in specialised Perinatal Mental Health teams in London and Buckinghamshire. Her research includes publications on postnatal depression, alcohol use in pregnancy, and bipolar disorder. Jessica has worked clinically with OXPIP, and this gave her an insight into the incredibly skilled work that is provided. She was very keen to support the charity as a trustee to continue its valuable work, so joined the board in September 2020.

Dr Karen Bateson

Dr Karen Bateson is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with a 25-year career supporting parent-infant relationships. Karen has worked in the NHS and the voluntary sector in a range of clinical, development and leadership roles. She brings strategic and research expertise alongside a thorough understanding of clinical work. Karen is also an author and lecturer, and joined OXPIP in January 2024 as Joint CEO, Executive Director.

Dr Susanna Graham-Jones

Susanna taught family medicine to medical students in Liverpool and in Oxford, after running a mother-and-child clinic in Nepal for Save The Children. Susanna recently retired after 20 years as a GP in West Oxfordshire. Together with the primary care team, Susanna's GP surgery were able to host an OXPIP therapist at their clinic in Witney (West Oxfordshire Rural Outreach Project), which made complete sense to have everyone working under the same roof, to protect vulnerable families.

Gisele Mendonca

Gisele trained as a Parent-Infant therapist with OXPIP in 2020 and remained working with OXPIP as one of our Freelance Clinicians. In January 2022 Gisele became a member of OXPIP staff as the Head of PIT training and Senior Parent-Infant Therapist. Gisele is also a qualified Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and has worked for various CAMHS clinics in the NHS for 15 years. In 2016 she decided to work solely in her private practice which allowed her to train as a Parent-Infant Therapist and expand her areas of expertise. As a clinician, Gisele is accredited by the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP).

Helen Callaghan

Helen has worked as a Parent Infant Psychotherapist for OXPIP since its inception. She has worked extensively with the NHS providing training, consultation and development work to senior management. She has also supervised both in the NHS and privately and has a Private Practice and Consultancy. She has been Clinical Director since March 2016 and CEO, Clinical Director from 2020. From January 2024 Helen took on the role of Joint CEO, Clinical Director.

Jan Martin

Jan trained as a Parent-Infant therapist with OXPIP in 2013 and has been working as a Freelance Parent-Infant Therapist since then. Jan worked for many years as a Midwife in the NHS, specialising in the care of vulnerable mothers experiencing emotional difficulty. Driven by a wish to gain a deeper understanding of her client group, Jan went on to train as a psychodynamic counsellor, gaining a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from Reading University in 2010. Jan then undertook an Infant Observation with Wessex British Association of Psychotherapists in 2012 prior to embarking upon her Parent-infant therapist training with OXPIP. Jan, along with Jane Eustace, set up our Parent-Infant service in Reading in 2014. Jan is an accredited Video Interaction Guidance practitioner and is a registered member of the BACP. Jan retired from clinical work in July 2023 but continues to deliver OXPIP's training.

Jane Eustace

Jane started working with mothers and babies in 1997 as a Family Worker in Reading. She then trained as a Psychodynamic Practitioner (Counselling and Psychotherapy) at Oxford University and was awarded an M.ST. in 2002. She has since worked in the NHS as Locality Lead for South Oxfordshire Primary Care and has lectured in Counselling for the University of Oxford and the University of Reading. She trained as a Parent-Infant Psychotherapist with OXPIP in 2013 and now works in South Oxfordshire (currently online during the COVID-19 Pandemic). She provides training and consultancy for Health and Social Care Professionals. She has a Private Practice in Reading working with parents and their babies/toddlers and also offers individual psychotherapy with adults. Jane is a Senior Accredited Member and Supervisor of the BACP, an Accredited member of APPCIOS and is an Accredited VIG Practitioner.

Jane Spencer

Jane originally trained as an intergrative psychotherapist 1992-97. She has additionally completed an MA in Child Protection, 1997-2000 at the Tavistock and from 2002-2006 undertook training as an Integrative Child Psychotherapist with IATE. She is registered with the UKCP. Jane has worked with children and families throughout her psychotherapy career working in schools, CAMHS, in the voluntary sector with organisations such at Respond, Children's Society, Family Counselling Trust and Action for Children. Jane joined OXPIP in 2009 as a Parent-Infant Pychotherapist, supervisor and trainer and left in 2015 when she moved out of Oxfordshire. She has recently rejoined the team undertaking training and online work with clients. She currently also works in private practise with adults as well as working with foster carers and with adoptive families.

Joanna Tucker

​Joanna became passionate about the value of early intervention with families in difficulty whilst practising as a social worker in the field of child abuse and neglect. She went on to train as an adult psychotherapist with the West Midlands Institute of Psychotherapy. Her desire to work in a preventative capacity led to her joining OXPIP. She has had a variety of roles in the organisation since 1999: as a parent-infant psychotherapist, supervisor, trainer, Clinical Director and now as a Consultant. She is a qualified Guider and Supervisor in Video Interaction Guidance. She is involved with our professional training delivery and leads workshops and lectures on issues connected with infancy, attachment theory, and parent-infant psychotherapy. She has taught on several therapeutic and academic trainings, and has had a number of articles about clinical work in the perinatal period published.

Judith Rassmann

Judith is a Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and trained at The Anna Freud Centre. She has extensive experience of working in the voluntary sector with children, adolescents and their families with a refugee background and also works is private practice. She joined OXPIP in 2023 and is a registered member of The Association of Child Psychotherapists.

Karina Cox - Treasurer

Karina joined the Board of OXPIP as Treasurer in March 2023. Originally from America, Karina began her career with 15 years in the private sector as founder of a full-service communications agency with offices in the US and UK. After joining the grassroots Obama 2008 campaign in Atlanta, she was inspired to move into the nonprofit sector, joining The Elders Foundation in London, a collective of former world leaders working for human rights and global conflict resolution. After qualifying as an accountant in 2017, Karina founded a consultancy focused on delivering change management, strategic development and interim finance leadership to UK and US nonprofits. Karina lives in Oxfordshire and is a mother of three, and grandmother to one. Her commitment to the invaluable work of OXPIP is inspired by a loss experienced within her own family.

Kathy Peto

Kathy has been working in the field of parenting education and family support in Oxfordshire for the last 22 years, as a practitioner, trainer, manager and supervisor within both the statutory and voluntary sectors. Having worked alongside Oxpip from its earliest days, she has seen both the powerful effect of its work on many families and also its growing impact, through training and partnership work, on the understanding of attachment in the wider workforce.

Katie Bailey

Katie trained as a Parent Infant Therapist with OXPIP in 2015. She worked for NORPIP from 2015 to 2020 and joined OXPIP in April 2019. She became passionate about the importance of early intervention whist working with children and adults as a Specialist Occupational Therapist in mental health and observing links to early experiences. She is an Advanced VIG (Video Interaction Guidance) Practitioner. She originally qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1988 and worked in mental health for 30 years within the NHS (Adult and CAMHS) and independently. She has extensive experience both in individual, parent/child, group and family work. Katie completed her two-year Infant Observation studies with OXPIP (2015 - 2017). She previously completed a two-year Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling from Leicester University in 2003 and a one year Introductory Course in Group Analytic Psychotherapy 1993-1994. This included an analytic perspective of the models of Family Therapy. She has also worked as an O.T offering Sensory Attachment Intervention to adopted and fostered children and parents. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Lawrence Judd

Lawrence spent 5 years working in health and fitness startups and is passionate about all aspects of health - mental and physical. After hearing about OXPIP's fantastic work at a fundraising event, he was keen to lend his digital marketing expertise to help promote OXPIP to a larger audience. He believes firmly in the power of equal opportunities for all, and is keen to allow future generations to experience life without the lifelong consequences of trauma in infancy. Lawrence currently lives in Oxford with his partner and spaniel.

Linda Manning

Linda joined OXPIP as a trainee in January 2012 and is now an OXPIP parent-infant psychotherapist working with the Saplings project and as part of the open access service. Linda started out as a nurse midwife working for VSO and other charities in Papua New Guinea and Afghanistan. Returning to the UK, Linda worked in Public Health whilst studying for an MA on Social Policy. For the past 20 years Linda has also been involved in counselling and therapy which involved setting up East Oxford Women's Counselling Service. She has an Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy MA and works with children in care alongside working for OXPIP.

Liz Gamble

Liz has a wide and varied background working in childcare settings and as a lecturer in childcare, before retraining to specialise in parent-infant relationships. She completed the M9 in Infant Mental Health at the Tavistock in 2013 followed by her Diploma in Psychodynamic counselling in 2016. She worked at NORPIP between 2016-2018 as a parent-infant therapist. Liz has completed her Video Interaction guidance (VIG) stage 1 and Dyadic Developmental Practice Psychotherapy and Parenting (DDP) level 2. Liz previously worked for an independent fostering agency as a clinical practitioner, delivering their therapeutic led care programme to foster carers, specialising in supporting families with children who have developmental trauma and attachment disorders. Liz joined OXPIP in January 2024.

Lizi Potter

Lizi joined the team in September 2017 and has since then taken on various roles within OXPIP, including Office Manager and Training and Marketing Officer. Lizi has a background in youth ministry, where she also had responsibilities for safeguarding and mentoring students. During her career she has many years of experience in project and events management, developing communications and has a Diploma in Counselling Skills. Since December 2019 Lizi has become OXPIP's Operations Manager which is a role in which she is developing these and many new skills.

Michela Biseo

Michela is a child and adolescent psychoanalytic psychotherapist (ACP) and psychoanalytic parent infant psychotherapist (BPC). She is Course Director for the Psychoanalytic Parent Infant Psychotherapy Training at the British Psychotherapy Foundation. She is also a Senior Tutor on the IPCAPA training at the BPF for the UCL/ Anna Freud Doctorate in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy (ACP). She was previously the PIP lead and Senior Clinician in the Early Years team at the Anna Freud Centre, London. Before this she worked in generic NHS CAMHS teams and with a specialist CAMHS LAC team. She teaches and supervises Parent Infant psychotherapy on various courses in the UK and internationally, and has published articles on her PIP work. She continues to work clinically specialising in PIP work and therapy for parents and their young children.

Monika Celebi

Monika Celebi is a National VIG supervisor and trainer, parent-infant psychotherapist and movement therapist with over 30 years of clinical experience. She specializes in the perinatal period and working with families on the edge of care. She has been involved in establishing VIG within many different organisations. Monika is the co-founder of Babies1st, a non-profit organisation supporting families in the perinatal period using VIG and Watch Wait Wonder with individual families and with groups. Prior to training as psychotherapist, Monika worked as the manager of the first refuge for women and children escaping from domestic violence in Haifa and as movement therapist in psychiatric institutions in Austria, Israel and the UK. Monika has lectured and published widely on the subject of perinatal interventions, and has edited ‘Weaving the Cradle - Facilitating Groups to Promote Attunement and Bonding between Parents, Their Babies and Toddlers'. She also provides training in video interaction guidance (VIG) and in facilitating parent baby groups both nationally and internationally.

Rob Kenny

Rob became Chair of Trustees in November 2020, having joined the Trustee team in 2018 as our treasurer. He is a founding partner in a strategy and policy consultancy serving the media and telecoms sectors, and also serves as a senior advisor to the Payment Systems Regulator. Previously he headed strategy and mergers & acquisitions for various large telecoms companies in Hong Kong and the US. He has also served on the boards of several start-up companies. As an adoptive parent, OXPIP's work on attachment is close to his heart.

Sam Smith

Sam is our Administrator, who joined us in January 2020. Sam worked for the children's centres in the Cotswolds for nearly 10 years as the Data and Information Officer and as a Family Support Worker. Sam attended the OXPIP Practitioners course in 2016 and is now delighted to be working as part of the team.

Shamus Donald

Shamus worked in the newspaper industry for most of his career and ran a newspaper business in Oxfordshire and Wiltshire in recent years. He is particularly interested in supporting children's charities and has been involved in several voluntary roles, most notably with the Oxford Children's Hospital. Shamus and his wife, Anne, have three children and two grandchildren.

Sophie Bartholomew

Sophie has worked with families for many years running postnatal support groups and baby massage classes. Since completing her Msc in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents, Sophie has worked as a Complex Case Therapist in primary schools and runs Circle of Security programmes for the Tavistock's Family Drug and Alcohol Court, supporting parents going through care proceedings. Sophie is midway through her training in Video Interaction Guidance and works with OXPIP in Didcot. Sophie is accredited with the BPC.

Trisha Sullivan

Trisha joined OXPIP as a trainee Parent-Infant Therapist in 2017. Since completing her Diploma she has worked for Dorpip as a Freelance therapist. She returned to OXPIP in September 2021. Trisha has worked in the NHS for 35 years. She originally trained as an RGN, Midwife and Health Visitor. During her work as a Health Visitor she became interested in the emotional life of mothers and their babies. She worked in a Child Development centre in Southampton where she set up parent support groups for parents with children with special needs. She also worked individually with these parents. She provided supervision and staff support groups in this area. She worked as a Psychotherapist on the Dragonfly Team for children with life limiting illness . During this period in her career, she completed her MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Trisha worked with adults in primary care before returning to work with children and adolescents in CAMHS. During this time she completed the Psychoanalytic Observational Studies course at The Tavistock. Trisha took an early retirement from the NHS to pursue her interest in working psychoanalytically. She is passionate about helping parents to develop secure attachments to their children. She finds working as a Parent-Infant Therapist immensely rewarding and is pleased to be back at OXPIP. She is registered with BACP.
