Alice Keir BVSC

Alice graduated with distinction from the University of Liverpool in 2011. Before moving to Anglesey and starting at Aran in 2015, she worked in a busy veterinary hospital. Alice has a special interest in animal dentistry. Alongside this, she particularly enjoys caring for our older pets and furry felines. Alice became Clinical Director of the practice in 2018 and is proud to lead such a fantastic team. She has a cat called Llew, and lots of sheep!

Cain Jones

Cain joined the practice in 1983 making her the longest serving member of the team! She excels in client communication - her first language is Welsh and she is passionate about using and protecting the Welsh language. Though Cain is a dog lover, she also shares her home with a variety of other pets including tortoises, a snake and a donkey.

Catherine Sturgeon

Catherine is our visiting soft tissue surgeon. Catherine is a European and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Soft Tissue Surgery, with veterinary experience of over 20 years. Catherine has expertise in clinical conditions from nose to tail and will very much tailor the surgery treatment required to your pet. Everything is explained and discussed with Catherine and then you can decide if the treatment plan is indeed the right thing for you and your pet. Catherine has always had a deep respect and love for all creatures and enjoys walking and observing wildlife. She currently has two much loved pets, Percy the black and white cat, and Lady Bird the Lurcher. Ceri Stewart

Originally from Yorkshire, Ceri graduated from Nottingham University. At home, Ceri, is kept busy by five dogs, four cats, one tarantula, and a brood of ex-battery hens. Outside of work, Ceri enjoys running with the younger dogs. Ceri is pictured here with her cat, Ted. Ted was found as a tiny stray kitten in a very poorly state. Ceri nursed him back to full health and he's now grown into a beautiful healthy cat.

Chloe joined the practice in 2016 as a trainee veterinary nurse. She gained her Veterinary Nursing qualification in 2019. Chloe enjoys dentistry and rabbit medicine. In her time away from work, she enjoys exploring Anglesey's coastline and walking the coastal path.

Originally from Spain, Clara graduated from Santiago de Compostela University (Lugo) and has special interest in dermatology. Clara has two dogs and enjoys spending time at the beach with the dogs and her 2 little kids

Emma Lloyd-Jones

Emma graduated from Edinburgh university in 2015, after growing up on a farm in Abergele. After spending 6 years in mixed practice, Emma joined the team to work part time in 2021. Emma is a second language Welsh speaker and also learning British Sign Language (BSL). When Emma isn't vetting she is kept busy on her family farm alongside her husband, daughter, many dogs and Shetland ponies. Emma also enjoys triathlon training and swimming in freezing cold welsh lakes!

Gareth Harries

Gareth is our visiting orthopaedic surgeon. He is often seen at the surgery with is gorgeous Vizsla, Sansa. He also has another dog called Tetley, and two cats, Florence and Daisy. Gareth qualified from Glasgow University in 1995 with commendation and merits in surgery and medicine and in 2005 he was awarded RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner Status in Small Animal Surgery. Gareth visits us at Aran to perform complicated orthopaedic procedures. Away from work, Gareth enjoys hill walking, road cycling, mountain biking and the occasional Duathlon. Lisa has been with us for 17 years. She started with us for work experience and has never left. She is the second-longest serving member of the team who is experienced in caring for all kinds of animals including chinchillas, chickens, feral cats, dogs and sheep. Lisa has a young family but also finds the time to put her creative skills to use and we all agree she is the most amazing mum.

Mark Overend

Mark is our visiting cardiologist and sonographer. Mark qualified from Glasgow University in 1990. Mark was awarded the ESVPS GP Cert in cardiology in 2010 and then in 2017, the PgC (Small Animal Cardiology Studies) (Distinction) from Harper Adams University. Mark has been running a cardiology and ultrasound referral service for the last 10 years but also lectures to and trains vets all over the UK in the fields of Ultrasound and Cardiology. Mark enjoys living in Shropshire with his family, working in the garden and walking in the local countryside. He has been playing the drums for over 35 years and still thinks he's got rhythm! He has 2 sons, one of which is studying a vet school. Mark thinks his sons are far more intelligent than him, but we think Mark is being modest!

Vicki has worked in the veterinary profession since 1995. She joined our team in 2021. Vicki is a qualified animal behaviour consultant and dog trainer - she's very happy to help your nervous canine friend with a weigh and play session! In her spare time Vicki loves to upcycle items, is a keen motorcycle and American car enthusiast. She also loves go walking and exploring around North Wales and the Island with her deaf dog who does tricks by sign language.

Vikki is our Practice Manager and is also a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She has been a vet nurse since leaving school! Vikki has an advanced qualification in animal dentistry and has several pets at home including a donkey called Mabel.
